DUBBO
BEST BET
Race 4, No.2: RHYTHMIC SONG
Runner-up at two of his four starts. Key to victory here is the favourable draw. Go well.
NEXT BEST
Race 3, No.5: RUBICK SUN
Locally trained filly who was very good on debut in a deep race at Coonamble. Resumes in an ideal race.
VALUE BET
Race 2, No.10: SILVER SCISSORS
Former Joe Pride trained grey mare who handed in an encouraging first run for Brett Robb at Orange last month. Placed to win.
QUADDIE
Race 4: 2,8
Race 5: 1,2,4,5
Race 6: 1,2,6
Race 7: 2,5,6
JOCKEY TO FOLLOW
Clayton Gallagher has enough horsepower to take out the TAB Jockey Challenge (barring any morning scratchings).
MURWILLUMBAH
BEST BET
Race 1, No.1: TIGERTUDE
First starter who looked the part when he won his trial at Grafton. Market the best guide but looks to have talent.
NEXT BEST
Race 3, No.8: HURRICANE MAX
Only managed four wins from 45 starts but went very close indeed when the closest of seconds over 1400m last time.
VALUE BET
Race 7, No.7: HEDONIE
Lightly-raced mare from the Gold Coast who has won her last two in commanding style. Can keep it going here.
THE INSIDE MAIL FOR DUBBO
RACE 4
Rhythmic Song has finished second at two of his four starts and most importantly, they have both been at this same track and distance at his last two appearances. On top of that, Brooke Stower has ridden him both times and not surprisingly, she is on top of the horse again. Hard to beat. Sumo is a cleverly-named son of Fighting Sun and has been shipshape in his three runs for Wayne Martyn Drawn way out wide but gets back and can find the line. All I Wish For was in the market on debut at Coonamble when he debuted in the winter. Market watch advised.
Bet: Rhythmic Song to won (best bet), exacta 2 to beat 8
RACE 5
Miss Kojiki is a very consistent mare from the Todd Howlett camp. The granddaughter of Deep Impact has raced 15 times for two wins and 10 placings six of those are seconds - and frequently in better company than Tuesday’s line-up. Has the winning draw (1). That said, this is a strong enough race with four last start winners - Miss Kojiki among them. Pass The Card was runner-up at his last start and is never far away. Go well. Castlebar Road went off for a holiday after winning the last two of his three run preparation - and both of the wins were here at Dubbo. Our Blue Moon bolted in first-up at Orange.
Bet: Miss Kojiki to win, box First 4 Nos. 1,2,3,4,5
RACE 6
Riders In The Stand is not a guaranteed starter but goes on top if she arrives despite winning only once in 19 starts. Honeywine is a former Godolphin owned gelding who went very, very close to winning the 2016 Gloaming Stakes prior to his fifth in the Spring Champion Stakes. Garry Lunn is the Street Cry gelding’s sixth trainer and has got the eight-year-old in smashing form of late evidenced by his last two, namely a win here and a nose second at Tamworth. Coupla hails from Parkes but has raced at this track/distance three times for two wins and a third. Winter Moon was dominant winning at Warren last start.
Bet: Riders In The Stand to win or if scratched, Honeywine to win
RACE 7
Daredevil started out life with Peter and Paul Snowden then has three runs for Kody Nestor, winning the last of them at Orange way back in September last year. The son of I Am Invincible will have his first run for Clint Lundholm here at home in the last and is blessed with a fantastic draw (2). Market watch advised. Mornay - a daughter of a mare named Lobster - is very well placed here third-up with the rails draw. The Andrew Molloy trained six-year-old has visited Dubbo three times, won twice and was second at the other. Major player. Denace can never be ruled out of anything, anywhere and she too has the draw to figure.
Bet: Daredevil to win, quinella 2,5, box trifecta 2,5,8,10
THE INSIDE MAIL FOR MURWILLUMBAH
RACE 4
In Awe Of Me has thrived since she left the city and went up to Matthew Dunn’s Murwillumbah stables. While housed there, the daughter of Shooting To Win has won twice in her three starts, both of them dominant in nature. No reason to suggest that she won’t add another to the tally here. September Girl has been thereabouts at every run of the current campaign - and against some quality opposition at times including Tara Jasmine. Drawn well for Ben Looker. Nankorobi Yaoki is a Vo Rogue-style horse who will give them something to catch again. Sometimes they do get him, other times not.
Bet: In Awe Of Me to win, box trifecta 3,4,9
RACE 5
Wizard Of Visp is a grey like his Magic Millions winning sire, Bradbury’s Luck. This Murwillumbah local drifted from $13 to $26 on debut at Grafton but ended up running much better than his SP, crossing the line in fourth place. Better for the outing naturally. Imprinted is a big watch. Trainer Graham Payne is a master with tried horses, often from Victoria, and history shows it doesn’t take Payne long to win with them. This NSW newcomer has the gun draw if he can take advantage. Matthew Dunn trained Daedalus finds himself in a winnable race.
Bet: Wizard Of Visp to win, quinella 1,2
RACE 6
White House Girl is one of the most promising horses racing on Tuesday. Trained by Toby and Trent Edmonds, the daughter of Winning Rupert was runner-up on debut at Grafton on November 3; she returned to the venue 16-days later and led throughout to win by two-lengths. First time on the wet track but she is out of a Not A Single Doubt mare who happens to be a stakes-placed granddaughter of BMW Stakes winner Miltak. Cosmo Kramer is a worthy adversary though. Like White House Girl, he is also down from the Gold Coast where he won his most recent start - easily. Edge Of Darkness is first-up and has looked pretty good in his two trials.
Bet: White House Girl to win or is scratched, Cosmo Kramer to win, quinella 4,12
RACE 7
Hedonie is a rare black coloured horse, bearing in mind only one per cent of the circa 13,000 foals born each year are officially classed as black. Now for the important bit - the Angela Plumb trained four-year-old has gone down to Ballina for her last two starts and won them both in commanding fashion. The ‘negatives’ are that she has a wider barrier this time, and it’s a decent field too, but hard not to be taken with those two wins. Beauchamp has run well in better races than this - provincial form is solid. First run for Lee Freedman off an easy trial win on the Sunshine Coast. Betting the best guide. Demykani has won two of three on heavy tracks. Lady Clare has claims.
Bet: Hedonie each-way, box trifecta 1,4,7,12
