ROSEHILL

Track: Heavy 9. Rail: +4m 1500m-W/Post, True Remainder

RACE 1

Overview: Iconic Dame found the fast lane last start but she was mighty impressive all the same. She now draws wide and needs luck early. Molly Nails is a talented galloper and if they’re happy to run on a heavy track first up, that must be respected. Rebel Dreamer is in the mix, while Sir Ravanelli gets a couple of key gear changes and threw the race away last start.

Betting Advice: Not much between Iconic Dame and Molly Nails.

RACE 2

Overview: Good race for the two-year-olds. I like the way Scorch has been trialling and the half-brother to In Her Time looks to have plenty of talent. Fire And Ice could not have been more impressive first up and his form was better than it reads on paper last campaign. Waverider Buoy, Opal Ride and Snitcat all have claims and the chances don’t end there.

Betting Advice: Scorch at the odds

RACE 3

Overview: Bartoselli just missed last start but he finds the in form Nash Rawiller and this looks a suitable race for him. Noble Soldier beat Bartoselli fresh and must be in the ball game again here. Air To Air would be hard to beat if she didn’t have a habit of missing the jump, while Saquon has some form at Rosehill and can bounce back here.

Betting Advice: Bartoselli to win.

RACE 4

Overview: This looks a nice race for Narrated and the step up in trip should suit. She finds Nash Rawiller and should dictate this race out in front. Elusive Jewel is a pretty consistent mare and she just has to run out the 1800m to be in the finish. Notions and Tinnie Winnie both have claims but I’m against Yggdrasil who found the right part of the track last start.

Betting Advice: Narrated to win.

RACE 5

Overview: Shades Of Rose is certain to be popular here and she had to circle the field last start and was just caught late. She finds James McDonald this time and is still on the up from a lower draw this time. Curtis Island is worth a play at odds and he is a very good wet tracker. He beat Petulant three starts back and should be strong late here. Twilight Affair has been trialling well and is also in the mix.

Betting Advice: Shades Of Rose the horse to beat but Curtis Island is worth a speck at odds too.

RACE 6

Overview: I’m assuming Manhood will most likely stay in Brisbane? Kanazawa sprinted strongly off a slow tempo last start and got the job done. This sets up OK again and he should be closing off. Pizarro has had the flashing light on at two runs back from a break but the concern here is the very wide barrier. Kalino and The Himalayas will both have admirers as well.

Betting Advice: Leaning to Kanazawa if Manhood goes to Brisbane.

RACE 7

Overview: Wicklow wasn’t suited by the sprint home last start but the step up to 1800m suits here on a wet track. Kirkeby did a good job at Rosehill last start and this looks within his reach with James McDonald aboard. Caesars Palace was a good winner at this track and distance last start and must be respected, while Philipsburg loves wet tracks and also goes in the mix.

Betting Advice: Leaning to Wicklow.

RACE 8

Overview: Looks a race in two between Cross Talk and Jojo Was A Man. The latter had the former’s measure two starts back but that was on a dry track. A wet Rosehill is a different story and I’ll lean the way of Cross Talk as a result. Jojo Was A Man comes through stronger races though and it’s important to note the race he comes through was run in much quicker time than Cross Talk’s race on the same day last start. It’s hard to get interested in any other runners.

Betting Advice: Cross Talk from Jojo Was A Man.

RACE 9

Overview: Open race as the market suggests. I didn’t think they were aggressive enough early with Easy Single last start. He still hasn’t won beyond 1000m and that’s an obvious concern. Dream Circle drops back to 1100m quickly but he has done that before and been effective. Siege is right in the ball game here, while Dalchini should be getting home hard late.

Betting Advice: Not much between these. Boxed trifecta- 6,7,8,9,10.

RACE 10

Overview: Tricky race to finish the day. Nerone has been going well in Melbourne and gets his chance to bring that form to Rosehill. He draws well and should get every chance. Sur La Mer and Tawfiq Lass are both going well, while Equation comes back as a gelding and may be able to run on late here. Marchioness isn’t hopeless at big odds either.

Betting Advice: Boxed trifecta - 3,9,10,13,19.
