Bond University’s path to a maiden Queensland Premier Rugby finals appearance has never been clearer as a revised season schedule supercharges their post-season ambitions.

The 16-match regular season has been cut to just nine matches for the Bull Sharks, with two bye weeks the joint-most in the competition.

Bond has scored a dream run through the competition, playing 2019 wooden spooners Norths and spoon runners-up Sunnybank twice.

Bond will open the season with back-to-back home games against both those sides in rounds two and three, after an early bye.

The chance to build momentum will be valuable because a trip to Brisbane to face down competition favourites Brothers awaits them in round four.

The club has never reached the finals since taking over the Gold Coast Breaker’s position in the competition in 2014 but a golden opportunity beckons in a COVID-affected season.
