Mackay kept fighting but Rockhampton had an answer for each Comettes run to record their first win of the tournament.

The Phoenix had more in them though as the Sunshine Coast stormed back with Gladstone struggling to put a stop to their momentum.

The Sunshine Coast continued their run, grabbing a 39-38 lead with just seconds remaining before a late technical foul allowed the Phoenix to seal the victory, their first of the tournament while the Power are still trying to get in the winner’s column.
