Golden Path can thrust himself further into the Group 1 conversation with a bold return against a star-studded cast in the Group 2 $300,000 Apollo Stakes (1400m) at Royal Randwick on Saturday.
Trainers Mick Price and Michael Kent Jr are eager to aim their aim their Kiwi-bred talent at the Group 1 $1m Ranvet Stakes (2000m) this autumn and are hopeful Golden Path can take a significant stride towards the race first-up.
Golden Path ($21) is one of the outsiders of the Apollo Stakes field where he will face off against stars Via Sistina, Fangirl and Ceolwulf.

“I think he is going extremely well that horse,” Kent Jr said.
“If the track was to get soft, that would suit him because he loves it.
“I don’t think he is the worst place chance but it is a hot race and this is a first-up run for him.
“We are building towards a Ranvet with him.”
Golden Path is a $101 outsider for the Ranvet Stakes at Rosehill Gardens on March 22.
The son of Belardo won the Listed McKell Cup at the same track and trip last winter while he was third in the Group 3 Kingston Town Stakes (2000m) at Royal Randwick in the spring.
