TOBY Edmonds has become an in-demand trainer after his stunning Magic Millions 2YO Classic win with Houtzen.

The Gold Coast trainer’s phone hasn’t stopped ringing since his brilliant filly won the

$2 million race last weekend as racing identities flock to have Edmonds train and syndicate horses for them.

“I have had some good interest and a lot of blokes have wanted to come in,” Edmonds said. “It’s good for business, good for everyone.

“It increases interest on the Gold Coast and it’s good for Queensland racing.”

Edmonds was already a hugely respected trainer before his Magic Millions triumph and despite the rush of interest he said he wasn’t going to knock back any opportunities

“We will try to fit them all in – we will find something for them,” he said.

The unbeaten Houtzen is having a short let-up as Edmonds plots his course towards the

$3.5 million Golden Slipper in Sydney on March 18.

“We will stick to the same plan and see if we can pull that off,” he said.

Edmonds has three horses – Fiery Heights ($3.80, Race 3) , Always Sacred ($4.80, Race 5) and I Am The Sculptor ($9, Race 8) entered at the Eagle Farm meeting today.

“I have got a mixed bunch this week,” Edmonds said. “They might run good, they might not – it is a bit difficult to gauge.

“Always Sacred is going OK so hopefully he can run well.”
