RYAN Plumb rode a treble and trainer Michael Costa celebrated a double but the latter says both should have added two more to their list at the Gold Coast on Saturday.
Plumb found success on the Costa-trained La Pulga and Defactor and Heritage Sash for training partners Toby and Trent Edmonds at Aquis Park.
Costa said it was a good day that could have been even better if Coco Fashion and Smug Satisfaction were able to get out into space.
Costa said he was always confident Defactor could win the QTIS Three-Years-Old Maiden Handicap (1200m) in the second run of his career.

“There was a lot of market support for some other runners in the race but we were pretty confident in him,” Costa said.
“He is a really nice horse moving forward, he is still a bit immature. The race didn’t pan out too well.
“We had to settle back from last and make our way through the race which is a difficult thing to navigate but Ryan gave it a 10 out of 10.
“As soon as he got daylight he cleared away. It was a perfect ride from a progressive sort of horse.
“Once he has matured he will definitely be targeting some races in town.
“He has pulled up pretty well so we might just try and progress to a midweek race or a Saturday race next.”
Costa said it was the opposite for La Pulga who had no issues on the way to winning the BenchMark 65 Handicap (1800m).
“It was perfect,” Costa said.
“There were two tearaway leaders and he got the suck run underneath and Ryan just followed the rail around.
“Once he got there he floated a little bit, he had a think about it but it was a good tough win.”
