THE final spot in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic has been filled as the Women in Racing group gather on the Gold Coast to celebrate their 10th anniversary.
The Gary Portelli-trained Racy officially snared the last spot in this Saturday’s Magic Millions 2YO Classic after the field for the $2 million race was released today.
There are no surprise withdrawals from the final field of 16, with Queensland trainer Liam Birchley leading the way with three representatives in the race this year- Flamenco, Pepperano and Saga Of The Storm.
The fairer sex dominate the field with 11 of the 16 starters being fillies this year.

And racing women dominated off the track today too, as Women in Racing held their annual luncheon at the Sheraton Mirage, raising money for Griffith University’s Institute for Glycomics and its research into equine influenza.
It was the first in a series of social events held this week to celebrate the Gold Coast carnival.
Queensland and NSW will both have six runners in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic race, while there are three horses from Victoria and one from the ACT.
Meanwhile, Brisbane trainer Tony Gollan officially has one quarter of the field in the Magic Millions 3YO Guineas after Yeager made the cut today.
Divine Service and the Chris Waller-trained Kipling didn’t accept for the $1 million race, paving the way for the Gollan-trained Yeager and Waller-prepared Liberty Island to secure the final two spots in the 16-horse field.
Gollan will also be represented by race favourite Hijack Hussy, Vienna Royale and Fixation, who will carry top weight of 57.5kg in the race.
