Sky Racing Update - 20-09-19

5.04pm: Take Tea has has kicked off another preperation with a win, taking out the Class 1 Plate (1100m).

The three-year-old filly, trained by Les Kelly, beat Galway Girl home following a close battle down the straight.

4.25pm: Scott Morrisey has secured a stable quinella.

Morrisey trained the first two finishers in the Colts, Geldings and Entires Class 3 Handicap (1400m) with Go Dixie edging out Wack’em in a photo finish.

It was the 20th time Wack’em had finished second in a 60-run career.

3.56pm: Ryan Plumb has celebrated his second Pink Ribbon Cup race win in as many years.

Plumb rode the Michael Costa-trained Nothing Needed to victory in the 1400m race at Aquis Park, a year after winning it with Les Kelly’s Aggravate.

3.05pm: BALERION has broken through for her maiden win nearly two years after making her debut.

The Scott Morrisey-trained four-year-old mare won the Fillies and Mares Maiden Plate (1200m) with jockey Anthony Allen in the saddle.

She got the jump on favourite Miss Gem who missed the start and held on to win it in her 15th career start.

2.30pm: Tisani Tomso has survived a bizarre protest to be declared the winner of the Open Handicap (1200m).

Jockey Sheriden Tomlinson won a dual with runner-up hoop Jasen Watkins, riding Amenzel, down the straight.

The two brushed each other coming down the straight and it prompted a protest from the runner-up but stewards were quick to dismiss it.

2.03pm: TRAINER Natalie McCall has secured her own double for the day thanks to a debut win for Pluck Jam.

The four-year-old gelding arrived at McCall’s stables unraced at the start of the year and won a trial at the Sunshine Coast on August 27 before winning Saturday’s Colts, Geldings and Entires Maiden Plate (1200m) at Aquis Park.

1.20pm: OCKEY Ryan Plumb has started the Pink Ribbon Cup race day in perfect style, winning the opening two races of the day.

Plumb won the QTIS Three-Years-Old Class 2 Handicap (900m) on $2.25 favourite Blue Odyssey for trainer Natalie McCall before backing it up with victory on $10 outsider Strike Sika in the Class 4 Plate (2400m) for Trevor Thomas.
