MURWILLUMBAH trainer Matt Dunn rates $1 million Magic Millions Cup winner Care To Think as the greatest horse he has ever had.
Care To Think won Saturday’s 1400m race with Gold Coast jockey Jeff Lloyd in the saddle after storming home from three deep.
Dunn won last year’s Magic Millions QTIS Open with Madotti and backed up with a horse he said was better than any he has trained before.
“He is the best — absolutely,” Dunn said.
“We knew a long time ago that he was going to be handy. What he did today, stepping up to that level and doing it as hard as he did. It’s very special and if I can train him properly and do a good job of him and keep him in one piece then who knows where he could end up.”
Dunn said he would consider targeting the Stradbroke Handicap with the four-year-old as well as potential trips to Sydney and Melbourne.
“I’ll see how he comes through the day and decide which way we go with him, Sydney or Melbourne over the carnival or hold on to him until the winter,” Dunn said.
