Magic Millions RM Williams launch party by the beach tonight

The who’s who of racing will be celebrating on the beach at Surfers Paradise tonight for the official launch of the Gold Coast Magic Millions carnival.

THE party mood is set to shift as the who’s who of Magic Millions celebrates this week.

Tonight celebrities, racing identities and VIPs can chill out and enjoy a more “relaxed” vibe by the beach for the R.M. Williams Launch Party before getting into the colourful fun of the Jeep Magic Millions Raceday on Saturday.

Event stylist Katerina Pitsikas of Kat & Co said they had been setting up the marquee on the beach for the past five days, building bars and getting theming together.

“It’s all very summery and tropical with a fun, beach party vibe for this year,” she said.

“It’s a very different palette and a very different setting.

“We want it to be really relaxed and fresh.”

Ms Pitsikas said Katie Page’s directive for Saturday was lots of colour and they were set to feature a paper flower installation for something different.

The stunning Moët & Chandon marquee will be decorated in coral and magenta colours, moving away from tonight’s sea breeze theme.

All Gold Coast Turf Club marquees for Saturday had sold out as of yesterday morning, meaning only general admission tickets are available.

R.M. Williams started its partnership with Magic Millions in 2004 and the launch night has become an integral part of the carnival in recent years, bringing together more than 400 members of the industry.

The brand’s apparel, footwear and accessories have been used to outfit Magic Millions sales staff and specific garments have been designed for international guests and VIPs at the event, including a silk tie and scarf depicting the horses competing in the main race.
