TRAINER Gerald Ryan has vowed to bring Magic Millions Maiden Plate (1200m) winner Problem Solver back to the $10 million race day next year.

Problem Solver finished a nose in front of Shesees Everything on Saturday at Aquis Park to pocket $150,000 Rosehill-based Ryan who said he planned on bringing the filly back as a four-year-old in 2019.

A much bigger payday could await Problem Solver and her connections next year with Ryan set to target the $1 million Fillies and Mares (1300m) race.

“The long term plans are the mares race next year,” Ryan said.

“It would be good to go back-to-back. That’s what is so good about the Magic Millions, you can do just that.”

Ryan has a successful history with the Magic Millions where Play Station won the Stakes (1400m) in 2001 in a track record of 1:20.33 and 2002 while Schiffer won the Open Sprint (1000m) in 2012.

“I’ve had a lot of placings in that maiden but in the last five years I haven’t had anything,” Ryan said of the daughter of Hinchinbrook purchased for $160,000

“You get a lot of satisfaction out of winning a race like that.

“It’s good for the owners too who were also in the filly (Pendeloque) that won at Randwick (on Saturday).”

The Magic Millions win was the first run of Problem Solver’s preparation.

Ryan said she would return to Sydney looking to add to her most recent success.

“She will come back to Sydney and have a couple of races now, we will see where she ends up,” Ryan said.

“It was basically her first up from a spell so we will take her home and find a winnable race for her next start.”
