IT took until the final few hours on the third day but the 2015 Magic Millions Yearling Sale has produced its first $1 million yearling.

Lot 566, a Fastnet Rock x Response filly, was knocked down to New Zealand agent Michael Wallace for $1.05m late today.

Wallace bought the filly on behalf of the China Horse Club, who also purchased the current second top seller for the sale.

That horse, a Sepoy x Celebrity Girl filly, sold for $850,000 on the opening day of auctions on Wednesday.

Bloodstock agent Michael Wallace has been the big buyer of the sales so far, paying $1.855 million for the top two lots, including this Sepoy filly for $850,000 on the opening day. Picture: Glenn Hampson
