AQUIS Farm will take a record draft of 25 yearlings to this year’s Magic Millions sales as the Gold Coast business continues to strengthen its presence in the region.
The Canungra-based outfit sold 17 yearlings for $3.4 million at last year’s sales — including a Medaglia D’Oro (USA) colt from Sangfroid that sold under the hammer for $1 million.
But Aquis Farm CEO Shan McGrath said it will grow further in 2018 where they will boast yearlings from a wide variety of leading sires and first season favourites such as Deep Field, Dissident and Rubick.
“Given the strength of the industry globally, prize money increases and new investors locally, the supply and demand trends of late should see another record sales session at Magic Millions 2018,” McGrath said.
“This year our yearlings to be offered through Magic Millions have been prepared in the Hunter Valley at our Murrurundi Farm, as we aim to synchronise the management of our two farms to produce a superior product for our clients and partnerships.”
