Ambassador Rachael Finch says Magic Millions should be on everyone’s bucket list as tickets sell fast

RACE fans have been warned to buy their Magic Millions race tickets today with the event’s skyrocketing popularity causing pre-sales to double.

Just magic

RACE fans have been warned to buy their Magic Millions Raceday ticket today or turn up early to secure a spot, after the Gold Coast Turf Club confirmed pre-sales were double the figure sold this time last year.

Gold Coast Turf Club operations general manager Richard Townson said the Bundall venue was on track to hit capacity tomorrow.

Just 2086 general admission tickets had been sold online and through the turf club reception this time last year, while yesterday that figure hit 4172.

“We are really happy with how ticket sales are going,” Mr Townson said.

“People need to buy their tickets before the raceway or get in early if they want to grab a spot to avoid disappointment because we are well up on last year.”

Thanks to the new Gold Coast Event Centre, another 1000 marquee tickets were offered for the 2015 raceday, but all the VIP areas at the turf club were sold out three weeks ago.

Channel 7 racing identity and Magic Millions ambassador Rachael Finch is one of the A-listers who was guaranteed a ticket.

Ms Finch said she could understand why the event was so popular and it should be on everyone’s “bucket list”.

“I am absolutely loving it,” she said.

“It is the perfect way to kick off the new year.

“The world class racing here in such a beautiful destination makes it a hotspot.

“There is nothing like it — the combination of the fashion, the food and the fun.”

Ms Finch visited the sales complex across the road from the track for the first time this year and got a chance to inspect one of the sale-topping yearlings, a Redoute’s Choice filly.

“She is beautiful,” said the obviously besotted media star who entertained the idea of bidding on the horse that sold for $720,000 yesterday.

“She is my new best friend.”
