Port Adelaide Football Club has been mocked online after their cheer squad’s banner was unveiled in Geelong with a key word misspelled on Friday.
The word “Adelaide” was awkwardly written as “Adeliade” during the opening of Friday’s match against the Cats at South Geelong’s GMHBA Stadium.
The banner read: “Back at Geelong. Friday Under Lights. Port Adeliade Footy. Courage and Fight.”
A post on the official AFL X profile highlight the error, with Port’s official account responding with an ashamed emoji in response.
Other users were quick to seize on the blunder to sledge the club.
One person wrote on X: “You know you are throwing down rock bottom banners when the official AFL account heckles you.”
Other comments questioned how the team was able to make a mistake in their own name.
