The VIPs started to gather ahead of the opening ceremony and the star-studded turnout to the LVMH Prelude to the Games event was an indication of what was to come. It was co-hosted by besties Baz Luhrmann and Anna Wintour after all, so you’d expect nothing less.
Rain didn’t dampen the opening parade with huge names from all around the world turning out to celebrate the procession down the River Seine.
From equestrian to badminton, to volleyball, swimming, athletics, gymnastics and basketball, there was no shortage of VIPs watching the action during the greatest sporting event on Earth.

Not sure Sharon Stone was on anyone’s bingo card for front row seats at the tennis. The actor also made it out to Stade de France to watch the athletics.

Baz Luhrmann and Anna Wintour were joined at the hip even before day one of action. They co-hosted the LVMH prelude event and then held court at the opening ceremony, the gymnastics, tennis and beach volleyball.

Mick Jagger was just a fan in the stands at the picturesque palace fencing venue. A picture captured a moment with everyone around him on their phones, unaware that rock royalty was in their midst.

Occupying a historic building that Napoleon built to house the Paris Stock Exchange, Team USA House had it all: food hall, memorabilia, multiple bars, merch and its very own Ralph Coffee shop serving cold-brew ice cream.

Nail art was all the rage: Noah Lyles rocked up to the 100m final with stars and lightning bolts; Sha’Carri’s talons were gold and crystal-encrusted; Jordan Chiles embraced a croc effect, and Keely Hodgkinson’s lilac tips featured Nike.

The pool deck erupted when Michael Phelps was introduced to the crowd on night two of the swimming. Also warmly welcomed were the likes of Carl Lewis, Marie-Jose Perec and Nadia Comaneci.

Queen Mary visited our athletes village and positively stole our hearts when she hugged Ariarne Titmus and Mollie O’Callaghan on the pool deck after they won gold in the women’s 4 x 200m freestyle relay.

Simon Biles wearing her diamond goat necklace after winning the all-round gymnastics final. A nod to her status as the Greatest Of All Time, Biles later said it was for fans as much as the haters “It’s like the best of both worlds.”

Omega House brought all their A-list ambassadors to town, with the likes of Nicole Kidman, Cindy Crawford, Kaia Gerber and Daniel Craig, plus more, posing in the courtyard of Maison des Polytechniciens, Hotel de Poulpry.
