THE Gold Coast is bursting with maroon spirit as State of Origin fever kicks into overdrive with Game 1 on Wednesday night.

Queensland Maroons will be playing to secure a back-to-back win against New South Wales Blues in the historic clash, the first Origin match to be played  at Townsville’s Queensland Country Bank Stadium after Covid forced  Game 1’s move from Melbourne.

The Garden Kitchen & Bar and Sports Bar at The Star will have two viewing parties with live music, prize giveaways and limited edition ‘footy specials’ on the menu.

“It’s a fun and dynamic atmosphere and one we’re thrilled to be part of,” she said.

 102.9 Hot Tomato presenter Paul Gale will host all three State of Origin games on the Lawn.

“It’s a historic State of Origin game being played in North Queensland and if you can’t be there live then there is no better place to watch it than on The Lawn at The Sta,” Mr Gale said.

The Sporting Globe franchisee Mark Vigus said they would have more than 60 big screens broadcasting all three games.

“We are gearing up for a massive night of footy at The Sporting Globe, Robina.

“We are completely kid-friendly too if you want to bring the whole family along for the footy and a pre-game meal,” Mr Vigus said.

Crafty's Sports Bar at Harbour Town have a huge night planned with half price pizza’s from 5pm.

Crafty’s owner Dave Galvin said the sports bar will play the game across 12 screens and “last year was a sell out, so looking forward to another cracking night”.

Australian Venue Co pubs across the Gold Coast will serve ‘Origin Front Rower’ burgers, where fans can choose to have a maroon or blue coloured burger bun.

You can grab a Front Rower burger at Burleigh Town Tavern, Coomera Lodge Hotel, Diamonds Tavern Varsity Lakes, Ferry Road Tavern, Southport, Hope Island Tavern, Runaway Bay Tavern, The Local Tavern in Surfers Paradise and the Wallaby Hotel in Mudgeeraba.

ALH Group state manager Stephen Clarke said their venues on the Coast would be screening the game live and loud.  “Every pub has large screens so you have an advantage position wherever you are,” Mr Clarke said.

“We have a Queenslander burger and a schooner deal.

“Burleigh Heads Hotel, Miami Tavern or Surfers Paradise beer garden will be the best place to go for the night.” You can grab a Queenslander burger or schooner deal at ,Surfers Paradise Beer Garden, Coomera Tavern, Oxenford Tavern, Parkwood Tavern, Broadbeach Tavern, Miami Tavern, Cecil Hotel and Palm Beach Hotel
