THE seven-figure investment into lifting the Gold Coast’s NRL pathway will be put to its first test today.
Mudgeeraba’s Firth Park will play host to six games between 10am and 6.15pm in a series of junior trials being branded as ‘Super Saturday’.
The Titans Elite Development Squad (TEDS) will play across age divisions from under-13 to under-18,
The younger half of the group, known as Titans Academy players, will square off with the Western Mustangs in under-13, under-14 and under-15.
At under-16 level, the Gold Coast Vikings will play both the Northern Rivers Titans and the Western Mustangs.
The other key match will pit the Northern Rivers Titans up against Burleigh’s Mal Meninga squad in an under-18 showdown.
“It will be a great day of rugby league, a lot of future NRL players hopefully on display and we’re looking forward to it,” said Titans elite player development unit manager Jamie McCormack, who hopes to see raw talent blossom into NRL quality.
