WITH selection looming for the State of Origin opener in Melbourne on June 6, the Bulletin rates the chances of the Gold Coast Titans’ Queensland and NSW hopefuls.
RATING THE TITANS’ ORIGIN HOPEFULS
Shannon Boyd – 3/10
Even the 26-year-old concedes he is a long shot but a few big games over the next month could put him on the radar.
Jai Arrow – 10/10
Barring injury or suspension, the 23-year-old workhorse is a lock for the Queensland pack after making his debut last season.
Tyrone Peachey – 5/10
A bench utility in last year’s NSW side, Peachey’s chances could be hampered by the Titans’ early-season struggles. The question is whether Brad Fittler will stay loyal to the victorious 2018 squad.
Jarrod Wallace – 8/10
The 27-year-old prop has played five-straight games since debuting for the Maroons in 2017 and their lack of forward depth has him well placed for selection this year.
Ash Taylor – 2/10
While he has been down on form for the Titans, an ankle problem for incumbent Queensland halfback Daly Cherry-Evans’ means Taylor could be just one Ben Hunt injury away from a maiden Maroons jumper.
