LUKE KEARY (SYDNEY ROOSTERS)

A standout for Burleigh’s colts and Intrust Super Cup teams in 2011, the diminutive playmaker even attended a handful of Titans training sessions that year but was never given a serious chance to prove his worth.

Three years later, he won an NRL premiership with Souths and is now a Test representative and Clive Churchill Medal winner.

THE OBSTACLE TO BURLEIGH ISC PREMIERSHIP

JAHROME HUGHES (MELBOURNE STORM)

A one-game Titan in 2013, Hughes was released at the end of the following season but has made every post a winner in Melbourne this year.

Handed a Test debut with New Zealand earlier this season, the 24-year-old has made a seamless shift from fullback to halfback in the Storm’s dominant campaign.

JORDAN RAPANA (CANBERRA)

A New Zealand Test regular over the past four years, Rapana starred for the Titans’ under-20s in 2008, earning selection in the NYC Team of the Year.

Six seasons later, the 30-year-old made his NRL debut for the Raiders and has become an integral part of their side.

CODY WALKER (SOUTH SYDNEY)

A Palm Beach Currumbin State High product, Walker spent 2009-10 in Gold Coast’s NYC team before making his mark with the Rabbitohs in 2016.

His rise continued with an Origin debut for NSW this year and he has become one of the NRL’s premier halves.

MAX KING (MELBOURNE STORM)

The 22-year-old prop held his own in 38 Titans appearances between 2017-19, before he was surprisingly released to Melbourne midway through the year.

He is now just one win away from a maiden grand final appearance.
