WHILE we won’t go into the details of his much-publicised sacking from the Sharks but Todd Carney made an impact for SuperCoaches in his final game.
Carney broke the 100 point barrier notching 108 in total, his biggest score of the year, in the Sharks upset victory over the Broncos on Friday.
Obviously he will be traded out of all teams who have him this week.
Highlights: Biggest points come early
Aside from Carney, Paul Gallen finished with a whopping 132 points in the Sharks 24-22 come-from-behind win at Suncorp Stadium, while Broncos halfback Ben Hunt notched up 103 and teammate Alex Glenn scored 88 for the losing side.
Meanwhile, in the other Friday night game south of the border, Brett Stewart hit some fine form with 101 points.
These five Friday night scores are among seven of the top players so far this week.
This blockbuster match set the precedent for the rest of the round, and while only Parramatta’s Jarryd Hayne and Ryan Morgan have so far matched them for points, it was great to see some big scores early on.
Lowlights: James Tedesco
Tigers fullback James Tedesco will become the SuperCoach star of 2014 that never was.
He came so close, and yet so far.
The youngster suffered a devastating season-ending knee injury in his side’s 19-18 win over the Raiders on Saturday night, making only two SuperCoach points in the process.
It comes only three weeks after he made his return from an ankle injury.
Teddy proved to be an instant favourite among SuperCoaches, with many scrambling to fit him in their sides for both his playing bouts this season.
Sadly, it has all come to a frustrating end.
Back to the drawing board, folks.
Top scorers:
1. Paul Gallen 132
2. Todd Carney 108
3. Ben Hunt 103
4. Jarryd Hayne 101
5. Brett Stewart 101

Look ahead: Dragons v Storm
This match could be one of the best Monday Night Football games for SuperCoaches this year.
With a host of potential SuperCoach stars playing, it could really make or break some head-to-head showdowns.
Cameron Smith, Billy Slater, Jesse Bromwich and Kurt Mann will all be in action for Melbourne while St George’s Josh Dugan and Gareth Widdop are still popular picks among some SuperCoaches.
