COREY Parker has dashed SuperCoach hopes that he will become an 80-minute player again this year.
Despite the new rule reducing the number of interchanges in 2016, Parker told couriermail.com.au that he thinks it is best for the Broncos if he continues to have time on the bench each game.
The news will come as a blow for many SuperCoaches who still live in hope that the lock will return to 80 minutes a game as opposed to his 60-minute average from the last two years.
“To be very fair I don’t think it’s in the best interests of the team for me to do that,” he said of playing full matches again.
“We had a good roster system last year with who comes on and the like. I would assume we’ll try to stick to something very similar.”
The move originally came in 2014 to reduce Parker’s time on the field, and it has only slightly hindered his SuperCoach average for the last two seasons.
But he is yet to reach the same heights as when he was playing 80 minutes, which has seen him lose his title of SuperCoach king in recent years and had him just place among the top five players last year.
