SuperCoach NRL round 17 wrap: Winners and losers, top scorers and injury news
The Roosters tore the Tigers apart, a Knights star broke the Roosters hearts, and SuperCoaches suffered some devastating injury blows. Here are the Winners and Losers from round 17.

While the second big bye round has passed, many SuperCoaches would have been forced to make some unwanted changes to get a full team on the park, with three teams on bye and a plethora of Origin stars ruled out late.
While a whopping seven players surpassed the 100 point mark, the Sydney rain really put a damper on things, with some low scoring games, while the Knights impressed after beating Parramatta in the game of the round.
Bradman Best ends up with the highest score of the round before countbacks, after breaking the Eels’ hearts late with two length of the field tries.
Sadly for SuperCoaches, while there was a handful of big scorers, the casualty ward also continued to grow, with some of the most owned players in the game set for a stint on the sidelines through injury or suspension.
Here’s how Round 17 played out:
ROUND 17 SUPERCOACH WINNERS
* Bradman Best (130 points) – It’s cruel on Bradman that NSW have Latrell Mitchell and Stephen Crichton in the centres, because he has the quality to be there. A couple of long range tries, assists and general great link-up play saw him notch the highest score of the night.
* Greg Marzhew (116 points) – Can thank Best for providing him with dynamite service all day. Got two tries, nearly had three had it not been for the bunker.
* Cameron McInnes (105) – Had a try assist in the first half and earned the bulk of his points the hard way. Incredible player and a superb outing.
* Te Maire Martin (102 points) – Had his hands in everything good for the Warriors. Very influential down the left flank, snagging a try and a couple of assists to hit the century.
* Mitch Barnett (93 points) – Had a terrific surge in points towards the end of the match after a lovely offload assist, once again showing why he’s in the picture for NSW selection.
* Xavier Willison (77 points) – Hopefully his 12% ownership played him, grabbing his second best score of the season after a late try.
* Mitchell Moses (103 points) – Looked excellent in Blues colours on Wednesday and just as good in blue and gold today. Two tries wasn’t enough for the result, but it was enough for a SuperCoach century.
* James Tedesco (126 points) – A popular captaincy option this week, James Tedesco tore his former team apart, scoring 126 points (252 if you threw the orange armband on him) thanks to a try, two try assists, a try contribution, 9 tackle breaks, two line breaks and two line break assists. A stunning stat sheet for the equal highest score of the day before countbacks.
* Dominic Young (126 points) – Tied with Tedesco for the highest score of the day, Young was on a whopping 70 points after just 20 minutes courtesy of an early double, but didn’t slack off after that, notching up a try assist, linebreak, a line break assist and another 6 tackle breaks in the remaining 60 minutes.
* Terrell May (73 points) – One of the most owned players in the game, May rewarded the almost 30% of SuperCoaches who own him with another monster performance thanks to a try, a linebreak and 40 points in base.
* Blaize Talagi (66 points) – Not a great handling night for Blaize with a couple of errors costing him points, but two tries was enough to restore a decent enough score.
* Kaeo Weekes (66 points) – Definitely not his most convincing performance, but showed blistering pace for a terrific solo try.
* Liam Henry (68 points) – The popular former cheapie may not have set the world on fire with just 68 points, but what is impressive is that it was all in pure base stats! Brought into the starting side in the absence of Liam Martin, Henry has proved all he needs is big minutes to be an absolute SuperCoach weapon.
* Fletcher Sharpe (61 points) – The most purchased player of the round, he’s set for a massive price rise after another solid performance. Over 23,000 SuperCoaches will be very happy with this cheapie.
* Briton Nikora (79 points) – Not the craziest score, but he was the second most purchased player of the round and I think the almost 15,000 SuperCoaches who brought him in this week would be pretty happy.
ROUND 17 SUPERCOACH LOSERS
* Joseph Manu (25 points) – Sadly the biggest loser of the round, after being forced from the field in the first half with a suspected fractured hand and could be looking at a stint on the sidelines. Amassive blow to the over 33% of SuperCoaches who own him. Finished on just 25 points after the injury.
* Jackson Ford (23 points) – Well below average on a quiet night tonight, disappointing the 8% of players who own him.
* Jesse Arthars (14 points) – Not a happy return on the wing for Arthars, barely getting a sniff tonight.
* Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad (24 points) – Followed up his worst score of the season last week with his new worst score of the season. Had no major attacking contributions and was largely invisible as the Warriors found points.
* Xavier Coates (24 points) – Injured in the final minutes. Now a massive doubt for State of Origin.
* Kai Pearce-Paul (34 points) – Had a try assist disallowed, didn’t amass any other contributions.
* Sua Fa’alogo (45 points) – Below average from the young gun filling the shoes of Ryan Papenhuyzen.
* Eliesa Katoa (51 points) – Owned by a whopping 26% of players, this was a quiet performance by the gun backrower.
* Jamayne Isaako (49 points) – While not the worst score, he was the fifth most purchased player of he week, so SuperCoaches who brought him in this week would be pretty disappointed given the hefty price tag.
* Nicho Hynes (48 points) – Had a massive break-even coming into the contest and another tough attacking night meant he didn’t get close to it. Set for a massive price drop.
* Samuela Fainu (40 points) – A popular purchase in recent weeks after finally locking down a starting spot at the Tigers, he failed to live up to his 5RA of 63.6, ending on 40 points. Again not the worst score, but still disappointing.
* Brendan Hands (28 points) – Still owned by 12% of players, Hands didn’t offer anything major to proceedings.’
* Bronson Xerri (28 points) – He’s had some big games throughout the year but his involvement was down in a low-scoring encounter.
* Ryan Papenhuyzen (DNP) – A popular purchase last week before making his NRL return, Papenhuyzen was sadly a late out for the Storm this week despite being named and didn’t play after picking up a foot injury.
* Ronaldo Mulitalo (41 points) – The third most purchased player of the round, and while 41 is still somewhat respectable, SuperCoaches who brought him in this week would no doubt be disappointed.
* Jeral Skelton (27 points) – The fourth most purchased player of the round, many SuperCoaches may have gone a week too early on this cheapie, crashing back down to earth after an impressive performance in Round 16. A lesson to not chase last week’s points.
