OUR team of experts reveal their top two trade targets for the week.
TOM SANGSTER
Shaun Johnson ($638,500)
Generic, I know, but Johnson is simply a must-have. He has averaged 15 more points than the next best active halfback in Daly Cherry-Evans and covers this important bye. A keeper to the end, and a captaincy and vice-captaincy option every week.
Gareth Widdop ($476,100)
Again rather generic, bit Widdop has scored the most points of any five-eighth in SuperCoach. That said, I’m far from enamoured with the trade given Widdop has averaged under 50 in the last six weeks. But he covers this bye and is a keeper to the end, even if you don’t play him every week.
DAVID CAMPBELL
Reimis Smith ($177,300)
The Bulldogs winger is bottom dollar and named for his third match. While the time for generating cash is essentially over, Smith gives you an additional player for the round 17 bye as well as the chance to make a bit of cash if you have the trades to upgrade him in a week or so.
Roger Tuivasa-Sheck ($497,000)
If you’ve got Kalyn Ponga now stinking up your fullback positions with his hamstring injury, RTS could be the man for you. The Warriors fullback has been in fine form this season, gives you an additional number for the round 17 bye and frees up $100k to spend elsewhere in your squad. Lock it in!
MARK GATELY
Justin Olam ($164,600) and Tui Kamikamica ($177,300)
In the absence of any attractive guns, and with trades rapidly dwindling, the Storm duo present as an excellent pair of one-and-done downgrades to re-stock the bank for another keeper or two when everyone is available over the next couple of weeks. Kamikamica’s dual position is an added bonus given the glut of 2RF-only guns.
