Holland’s overall season in 2018 doesn’t seem so appealing considering he finished the year with a 46 average. However, given Holland failed to play 80 minutes in his first 10 games of the season, he could be underpriced for 2019.

In the 10 games that Holland played the full 80 he averaged 71 PPG. During that time his base stats fell below 30 on only one occasion.

Considering it appears as though Rhyse Martin, the Bulldogs regular goalkicker in 2018, is on the nose with coach Dean Pay, Holland would be the primary goal kicker for the Dogs in 2019.

Currently averaging a tad under 79% when given goalkicking duties, even if you don’t think the Bulldogs will offer much in attack this year, the role should still see Holland add around 10 PPG on his score.

Holland has also shown he can accumulate points through attack. Through his ten 80-minute games in 2018 he averaged 44 points per game in scoring, creative and evasive stats.

A solid base, goal kicking and attacking potential should see Holland increase in price and become an enabler for a player like Latrell Mitchell later in the year.

I believe people are underestimating the Bulldogs this year. I am a big believer that forward packs dictate the outcomes of games and the Bulldogs have a formidable pack when you break them down. They should give the Bulldogs backs a chance to score some points. I’m not saying they will be a top 8 team but I don’t believe they will be battling for the spoon like many have predicted.

I rate Dean Pay as a coach. He showed with the junior Blues that he can build a team with good culture and I expect him to do the same at the Dogs and results will start to come this year.

Finally, the Bulldogs have a friendly opening three game stretch which sees them play the Warriors, Eels and Tigers to start 2019.

If Holland gets off to a start similar to how he finished 2018, you could have a pretty handy POD on your hands.
