The second big bye round is here and it may be time to move on some of the best fullbacks in SuperCoach, as teams scramble to get a full team on the park.

SuperCoach NRL Podcast: Live Teams Reaction Round 16

Teams are in for second major bye round of the year.

See every team change and which SuperCoach heavyweights are returning in round 16.

WINNERS FROM TEAMS

Ryan Papenhuyzen FLB $692,600 - Paps makes his return from injury to play his first game since Round 9 and could come into SuperCoach calculations in the coming weeks. He plays the bye round this week, and has great matchups against the Raiders and Tigers before missing the Round 19 bye.

David Fifita 2RF $854,200 - A late withdrawal with an ankle injury in Round 15, David Fifita will be a popular purchase given his excellent bye coverage (assuming he remains out of Origin contention). Covers Round 16 and 19, so lock him in! But be sure to keep an eye on late mail, as he is a chance to miss out yet again.

Lachlan Galvin5/8 $551,700 - Named to return from a hand injury, a massive inclusion for SuperCoaches scrambling for halves in the big bye round.

Apisai KoroisauHOK $570,300 - While he still scored well playing in the halves for Wests last week, the return of Galvin frees up Api to move back to hooker, which should help his SuperCoach output.

Trai FullerFLB $444,000- Named to play in the absence of Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow, a reward for the 5% of SuperCoaches who has stuck with him, despite a tough matchup against Melbourne.

Roger Tuivasa-SheckCTW $549,100 - Not a massive surprise given he was 18th man for the Warriors last week, but RTS is back which is a massive boost for the 8.7% of owners who stuck with him. There aren’t a heap of quality CTW options for the big bye round this week so his ownership could increase after news of his return, especially given his juicy matchup against the Titans.

Dominic YoungCTW $785,500 - A late withdrawal in Round 15 with a hamstring injury, Young has been named to make a return and while the Bulldogs matchup isn’t great he is a much needed number for the big bye round.

Terrell May FRF $584,900 - Named to start wih Lindsay Collins and Spencer Leniu called into Origin camp, so should get through some decent minutes. A reward for the 29.8% of people who still own him.

Josh Curran2RF/FRF $530,000 - Returns from a head knock and named to start on an edge for the Bulldogs.

Matt Burton HFB & 5/8 $719,500- In a massive boost for SuperCoaches, Matt Burton missed out on Origin selection for Game two and will be available in Round 16. He was 18th man for NSW in Origin I and was unavilable for the Bulldogs in Round 12. A welcome inclusion for the 15.7% of owners.

LOSERS FROM TEAMS

Sua FaalogoCTW/FLB $530,200 - The return of Ryan Papenhuyzen likely spells the end of Faalogo’s spot in the starting side in the coming weeks, but he will thankfully start on the wing in the absence of Xavier Coates. But from Round 17 onwards he is a chance to drop out of the squad, or even worse... earn a bench spot and become an AE nightmare.

Latrell Mitchell FLB $870,200 - While Souths are playing, the Rabbitohs fullback misses out due to Origin selection. With Souths also on the bye in round 17, before missing out again in Round 19 for State of Origin, Latrell will now play just once in the next four weeks.

Reuben Garrick CTW $686,400 - Misses out on selection in Round 16 due to a head knock, while the Sea Eagles have the bye in Round 17, so will be unavailable for the next two weeks.

BUY

James Tedesco FLB $873,200 - Teddy’s origin loss is SuperCoaches’ gain. In terrific form with a season average of 84.1PPG and a 5RA of 105.6PPG Tedesco has a tough(ish) matchup against the newly resilient Bulldogs and then has a tasty round 17/18 draw against the Wests Tigers then the Dragons. On a bye in round 19 which is a bummer but still the buy of the week.

Jahrome Hughes HFB $741,000 - Was my buy of the week heading into round 14 and has rewarded those that picked him up with consecutive tons. Has the Dolphins (at Suncorp) this week which is neither good, nor bad, but then he has the Raiders 9at home) and Tigers (at Leichhardt) and those should be decent games for Hughes. The Storm do not play round 19 and there will be a strong temptation to then trade Hughes out to Nicho Hynes (provided he’s not back in Blue) as the Sharks play Rd 19.

Eliesa Katoa 2RF $744,000 - The Storm star has scored four tries in the past five games and is averaging 85.6PPG over that span. A top-three player at his position - as well as his lovely attacking stats Katoa averages around 50PPG in pure base - this is a buy that will not just help you through the bye but will prove to be a season-long keeper.

Lehi Hopoate FLB $333,700 - Those hopping on now have missed the first big $130K price rise but don’t let the perfect be the enemy of good. Hoppa junior scored 76 against the Storm and then 55 against the miserly Panthers to start his NRL career and then backed that up with a sensational 92 points against the Dragons last week. He has a very useful draw covering round 16 this week, bye in round 17 and then covering rounds 18 and 19. An average of around 60 points in the three games he plays over the next four weeks would see him priced around $500K heading into round 20 at which point you can trade to a keeper.

Addin Fonua-Blake FRF $698,200 - Available for under $700K for the first time since round eight now is the time to add AFB to your team. Is no help in the round 19 bye, but no other FRF has his attacking upside.

David Fifita 2RF $854,200 - He has a BE of 112, is carrying a niggling ankle injury which saw him miss last week and does not play round 17. All these factors combine to suggest Fifita is a hold and someone you should pick up in round 18. However, no other 2RF has the big Titan’s upside so if the reports from the training paddock are positive I’d be tempted to buy him now and be done with it.

HOLD

Sua Faalogo CTW/FLB $530,200 - The return of Ryan Papenhuyzen means Faalogo will be a sell candidate in the coming weeks, but he retains a starting spot on the wing this week with Xavier Coates called into Maroons camp. Can hold this week for a decent matchup against the Dolphins before moving on.

Kai Pearce-Paul 2RF $541,000 - Another who looks to have peaked in price and does not play this week due to the bye. Plenty of SuperCoaches are cashing the big Englisman in but if you can cover for him this week then I’d be tempted to hold as he’ll be a valuable piece in rounds 19/20 before being sold ahead of his round 21 bye.

Reuben Garrick CTW $686,400 - Misses this week due to the Cat 1 concussion he suffered last weekend and then Manly have a bye in round 17 so what you do with Garrick will depend on your CTW depth. If you can cover the next fortnight there’s an argument for holding the Manly centre as he will prove a valuable asset from round 18 onwards. If you need the extra number then you could sell.

SELL

Scott Drinkwater FLB $757,700 - It’s hard to list a guy rocking a 5RA of 83.2PPG as a ‘sell’ but Drinkwater is on the bye this week, has the Panthers (in Penrith) next week and then misses round 19 (bye) too.

Latrell Mitchell FLB $870,200 - This one depends on whether you play head-to-head or overall. If head-to-head then I’d be tempted to hold. But overall players should sell. Mitchell’s Origin selection means he misses this week, he has a bye in round 17, plays round 18 and then has a bye round 19. That’s just one game in four weeks. Sell.

Blaize Talagi CTW $606,100 - On the bye and price has peaked. Sell.

David Armstrong FLB $451,600 - Working back from injury but looks to have lost his place at the Knights. Sell.

Dylan Edwards FLB $943,600 - Back in Origin frame and Panthers have byes Rd 16 and 19 regardless so you can sell to free up some serious cash, but if you can cover him through the bye period he is worth holding onto.
