TWEED SEAGULLS

WILL BRIMSON (FIVE-EIGHTH)

“Will’s had two years out. He was with the Broncos (under-20s) and had a year of Cup at Wynnum and he gave it away with injuries. He’s come back this year and is going really well so I think he’s a player that’s definitely going to impact our side going forward.

BAYLEY FAULL (FRONT ROW)

“Bayley played with us last year but probably only played a handful of games off the bench. He sort of played between us and Bilambil last year but he played a bit of under-20s at the Roosters and Wests Tigers so he’s been around. He’s really had a good off-season and he was really strong against Burleigh (in the trial) and I think he will probably establish himself a bit more this year.

HOW TALANOA FOUND A HOME WITH THE SEAGULLS

LEE TURNER (CENTRE)

“Lee played the back end of last year with us but probably spent most of the year at Southport. He was straight out of 20s last year and did a good job to get a crack. He’s a strong, skilful centre so I think he’ll be pushing hard for a spot in Round 1 and he’ll be looking to play a lot more consistent Cup this year.

BURLEIGH BEARS

REECE TAPINE (WING/CENTRE)

“He’s a young boy who played in the A grade comp (in 2019) and he’s got some ability. He’s got to fill out a little bit and get a bit stronger but he’s a player who’s done well in the trials.

TYLER SZEPANOWSKI (FRONT ROW)

“He’s another one who’s shown plenty of promise coming out of our (colts) side last year. He’s a young forward who can continue to evolve and take some steps in the right direction.

RICK STONE’S VISION FOR REIGNING PREMIERS

JOSH ROGERS (FIVE-EIGHTH)

“He’s been up and down a bit in the ISC and probably shared the five-eighth role last year with Dylan Phythian. He’s looking to cement a bit of a position for himself this year.
