The most dramatic team list Tuesday of the season has been locked in with Nathan Cleary and Isaah Yeo rested, Dylan Brown dropped and Lachlan Galvin promoted to the starting side as teams begin their push towards the finals.
It’s not overly surprising that the Panthers have decided to give their co-captains the week off after a gruelling State of Origin campaign, with Cleary coming off the bench last week and starring in the win over the Eels.
And Parramatta is the home of the most surprising selection call of the weekend with Dylan Brown named 18th man for their trip to Canberra after he started last week at hooker and spent most of the game on the bench.
It could be the end of his career at the club with Brown off to Newcastle next season. Joash Papalii keeps his spot at five-eighth while Ryley Smith is back from suspension and starts at hooker.
The Roosters have also made a shock call at five-eighth with veteran Chad Townsend recalled to replace the injured Hugo Savala, with Sandon Smith sensationally left out of the 17.
Lachlan Galvin will start at halfback for the Bulldogs for the first time, with Toby Sexton dropping to the reserves.
Stephen Crichton is back in the team in place of the injured Bronson Xerri, while Sitili Tupouniua is also lurking in the reserves.
The Storm will be without Ryan Papenhuyzen (calf) for the third week in a row but he is expected to return in round 21. They do get Xavier Coates and Cameron Munster for their game against Manly.
There’s mixed news for the Dolphins who welcome back Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow at fullback, but they’ve lost Kulikefu Finefeuiaki (broken thumb) for the game against the Cowboys who will be without veteran Jordan McLean.
Lewis Dodd has been named on the bench and could get a rare game for Souths who will be without Campbell Graham (back) for their game against the premiers.
Taylan May has been cleared to play his first NRL game for the year for the Wests Tigers at centre, with Adam Doueihi shifting to lock after impressing there last week.
And Brodie Jones will start in the back row for a depleted Knights side that has lost Dylan Lucas (foot) for the rest of the season.
