Ray Hadley tells David Fifita to take Titans money

Broadcaster Ray Hadley is back on the Gold Coast, and he has a message for former Keebra Park footballer David Fifita.

BROADCASTER Ray Hadley says former Keebra Park footballer David Fifita should ditch the Broncos and take the $1.25 million being offered by the Gold Coast Titans.

Fifita, 20, is expected to make a decision this week on whether to accept the Titans offer for next season or sacrifice $550,000 by accepting the Broncos’ $700,000 deal.

WHAT TITANS FANS REALLY THINK OF CHASE FOR FIFITA

4BC host Hadley says “it’s a lot of money” and Fifita should take it.

“It would be a bit easier if the Broncos were playing particularly well, but they’re not,” Hadley said.

“I’d be heading to the Gold Coast.”

Hadley will be broadcasting from the Nine Network’s building in Surfers Paradise for the next two weeks.

IS FIFITA WORTH THE MONEY?

It’s the first time he has returned to his “second home” on the Gold Coast since January due to the pandemic and Queensland borders being closed.

WHY TITANS DON’T NEED TO REACH FOR X-FACTOR TALENT

“I’ve had a place here for 20 years. I usually come here once a month to do my program but during the COVID crisis I’ve been unable to come.”

Asked if he was glad to be escaping Sydney for the sunny Gold Coast, Hadley said: “The further north you go, it appears the safer you are. Happy to be here.”
