SHANNON BOYD

Interests away from football

“I’ve got a few acres out at the base of Mount Tamborine at Guanaba so I like to spend a bit of time out there. I’ve got a horse there and I muck around with that and my dogs and my partner and my little boy so it’s nice to get out there and have some peace and quiet. I like to do some hunting too but I haven’t been since I moved up here. It’s been a bit quiet on that front.”

Life after footy

“I’ll go back onto the family farm at home. Me and my brother have bought a couple of farms back there as well so as soon as I finish up with footy I’ll head back and get back on the farm.”

Another sport you wish you could play professionally

“I really enjoy golf and I don’t know if it’s a sport but campdrafting. It’s pretty fun. I wouldn’t mind being able to be a freak at that. You’d make some pretty good coin.”

KEEGAN HIPGRAVE

Interests away from football

“Surfing and I’m trying to finish my uni degree, so that’s taking up most of my time at the moment. I’m doing a Bachelor of Business. I went full-time this year just so I could finish it by the end of the year.”

Life after footy

“I’m not too sure, I’m just trying to do as much as I can to set myself up for after football. Right now, that’s just the business degree and I’ll probably look at doing something else afterwards. I want to tick as many boxes as I can because I don’t know what I want to do after footy. Hopefully it’s still a while away.”

Another sport you wish you could play professionally

“If I was good enough, surfing, but I’m not a good enough surfer. I played water polo growing up and I always thought I might go overseas and play on the Europe tour but footy took over.”

MAX KING

Interests away from football

“I’m a big indoor kind of guy. I love being inside in my spare time, chilling out. I’m massive on the PlayStation, I reckon I’d be doing some hours on it. Games of choice are Fortnite and Rainbow Six Siege. There’s a couple of boys that play it within the team but I’ve got a squad back home so I’m on that a fair bit. The day of the captain’s run and game day, I shut it off because I find I get a bit distracted by it. TV as well, like Game of Thrones. There’s a couple of boys (at the Titans) that like to do surfing and I’m not about it. I hate it. Whenever it comes to army camp I always have to dig deep. So for me, once it’s home time it’s just chilling out.”

Life after footy

“It is something I speak to our welfare people about. I don’t want to be narrow minded in just thinking about football but I just turned 22 so I really want to keep focusing on being the best footballer I can be and back myself. My goal is still to be here as long as I can be. I’d like to think I’m not close to the end, I’ve still got a few years. That’s why I don’t really have any courses or anything at the moment that’s caught my eye.”

Another sport you wish you could play professionally

“This is always a hard question because you look at golf and just think ‘geez that’d be the life in terms of just being laid-back’. But I think it’d be pretty cool to be an NBA player. What they’ve got going on seems pretty cool and they always seem to get a feature in rap songs and what not. I reckon Drake rapping you in songs would be pretty cool.”

JARROD WALLACE

Interests away from football

“I like to play a bit of golf. I’ve got two little girls too so most of my time, if they’re at home, gets trapped with them. I try and spend as much time with them as I can.”

Life after footy

“I haven’t thought about it too much but I’ve been doing a bit of radio on Sea FM and I really like doing that. I enjoy having a couple of laughs so I think if the opportunity ever come up for something like that I would definitely take it. Or firefighter, I want to be a firefighter.”

Another sport you wish you could play professionally

“Something that’s a lot easier on my body. Probably golf.”
