THE Newcastle Knights face an injury crisis ahead of their clash against the Tigers on Sunday, with five players either ruled out or in doubt.
Adam Cuthbertson (knee, round 18) will miss at least a month after picking up an injury in Sunday’s loss to the Warriors, while Akuila Uate (knee), Beau Scott (neck), Jarrod Mullen (shoulder) and Jake Mamo (back) are racing the clock.
With Clint Newton (pectoral, round 15) and Alex McKinnon (neck, season) also on the long-term list, Newcastle’s depth may be tested as they battle to climb from 15th on the NRL ladder.
Other key injuries to emerge in round 12 included Nathan Peats (ACL, season), Dean Whare (leg, round 13), James Segeyaro (ankle, TBC) and Sam McKendry (ankle, TBC).
