Super Saturday had a bit of everything with a rare draw, a Sydney powerhouse returning back to form and one plunging further to new lows.

New Zealand and Manly gave us a finish for the ages with the Warriors scoring eight points inside the last two minutes to force golden point.

Parramatta bounced back from a horrendous attacking display against Canberra to put 27 on a disappointing Cowboys.

As for the most anticipated match of the day, the Rabbitohs showed plenty of fight, but the toll of losing three players to injury saw Cronulla finish too strong.

Then there were the SuperCoach studs and duds. The players that stood tall and are pushing teams well into four figures, while others are scrambling to find round seven trades already.

Here are the 30 SuperCoach Winners and Losers from Super Saturday.

SUPERCOACH WINNERS

1. Ronaldo Mulitalo (100 pts) – Two tries, two try assists and raises the bat with 100 not out. Top showing.

2. Dean Hawkins (83 pts) – His best showing of the year and could play himself into a number of SC teams.

3. Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad (92 pts) – Averaging 90 in his first two rounds. Entering the top echelon FLB conversation.

4. Joey Lussick (66 pts) - Played the full 80 minutes and scored a try. What more can you ask for?

5. Daly Cherry-Evans (99 pts) – Backed up his huge effort last week with a near ton. He’s in great form.

6. Teig Wilton (81 pts) – Always a scoring threat and a double boosted his score. Dangerous player.

7. Tommy Talau (70 pts) – Budget winger who has shown he can perform well above benchmark.

8. Te Maire Martin (65 pts) – Linking well with Shaun Johnson and continues to lock down the six jersey.

9. Jye Gray (50 pts) – Rock bottom price and scored well despite going off with a HIA.

10. Tohu Harris (90 pts) – These are the type of scores you want a big-priced player to produce. Leads by example.

11. Shaun Johnson (89 pts) – He’s hitting his straps and it is a great sign for SJ owners.

12. Mitch Barnett (76 pts) – No nonsense forward who racks up the base points and was exceptional.

13. Daejarn Asi (58 pts) - Earned his place in the side and looks like he’ll keep the jersey after a strong effort.

14. Peter Mamouzelos (72 pts) – 50+ of his points were base, will he keep his spot after the bye?

15. Dylan Brown (62 pts) – Hit 60+ points for the second time this season, an encouraging trend.

SUPERCOACH LOSERS

1. Ryan Matterson (18 pts) – Played under 30 minutes and was a tough one for owners.

2. Kelma Tuilagi (7 pts) – 15 minutes of game time and just seven points. Not a viable SC option currently.

3. Jaxson Paulo (18 pts) – Can be a bit rocks or diamonds in SC, and he failed to trouble the scorer.

4. Chanel Harris-Tavita (15 pts) – Saw 18 minutes of time, will it increase in the coming weeks?

5. Chad Townsend (25 pts) – Tough game for the Chad. Can bounce back but wasn’t his night.

6. Siosifa Talakai (24 pts) – Will be a challenge to keep him if he keeps coming from the bench.

7. Jack Wighton (35 pts) – Tried really hard but it didn’t translate to a good SuperCoach score.

8. Griffin Neame (18 pts) – Good player but his impact was kept to a minimum by Parramatta.

9. Jack Gosiewski (16 pts) – Not getting enough time to score big. If you own him, why?

10. Tevita Tatola (7 pts) – Lasted just 14 minutes before suffering an ankle injury.

11. Lachlan Croker (28 pts) – His SuperCoach slump continues. Hasn’t scored more than 37 in five weeks.

12. Cody Walker (39 pts) – A score of 39 with a try assist is a far cry from the Cody Walker we know.

13. Tyrone Munro (12 pts) – Went down with a collarbone injury in a cruel blow for the 18-year-old.

14. Keaon Koloamatangi (43 pts) – Second lowest score of the season, needs a spark from his halves.

15. Roger Tuivasa-Sheck (47 pts) – Not a bad showing by any means, but you’re wanting 50+ from RTS.

FULL-TIME - Sharks 34-22

Blayke Brailey scores in the closing stages to put a halt to the comeback.

Rabbitohs fans will be upset to be sitting at 1-5 through six rounds, but they can take solace in the fact their team had a real crack tonight.

They played the whole second half with just 14 men and pushed the Sharks right to their limits.

Whether it will be enough to save Jason Demetriou’s job is another question, and the upcoming press conference will be essential viewing.

TOP SUPERCOACH SCORES

1. Ronaldo Mulitalo 100

2. Dean Hawkins 83

3. Teig Wilton 81

4. Tom Burgess 79

5. Blayke Brailey 79

6. Nicho Hynes 79

7. Cameron McInnes 76

8. Sione Katoa 72

9. Peter Mamouzelos 72

10. Siliva Havili 65

75th minute - Sharks 28-22

Cody Walker has thrown a pass straight out of the textbook to give the Rabbitohs a fighting hope inside the final five minutes.

71st minute - Sharks 28-18

Have we spoken too soon?

George Burgess crosses the line after some great work from Siliva Havili and the margin is 10 with nine minutes remaining.

68th minute - Sharks 28-12

And just like that, any hope is gone.

Ronaldo Mulitalo has picked up another try assist as he approaches the SuperCoach century, and the Rabbitohs are as good as gone in this one.

Top SC scores: Mulitalo 96, Wilton 73, Hawkins 73

62nd minute - Sharks 22-12

Where there’s life, there’s hope.

Dean Hawkins throws a lovely cutout pass that fools Ronaldo Mulitalo, giving Taane Milne a passage to the line.

The winger was able to barge through Will Kennedy and Braydon Trindall to keep the Rabbitohs’ hopes alive.

Top SC scores: Mulitalo 95, Hawkins 70, Mamouzelos 61, Hynes 56

55th minute - Sharks 22-6

The Harbour Bridge has come to Homebush.

Braydon Trindall throws a beautiful pass to Sione Katoa who gives us a flashy finish to push the lead out further, and with Souths down to 14 players, you can almost say it’s game over.

Top SC scores: Mulitalo 89, Katoa 52, Mamouzelos 52, McInnes 51, Hynes 51

45th minute - Sharks 16-6

You can’t script this. Skipper Cameron Murray has been ruled out at halftime after failing his HIA.

Jack Wighton now has a headgear on with South Sydney down to just one fir player on their interchange bench.

Jason Demetriou needed everything to go right tonight, but the complete opposite has happened.

HALFTIME - Sharks 16-6

Jye Gray has passed his HIA in a massive boost for the Rabbitohs just prior to the break.

They needed that desperately with their bench sitting at one for a brief moment.

Just as Gray returns, Cameron Murray has to go for a HIA after copping a high shot from Sione Katoa which was placed on report.

TOP SUPERCOACH SCORES

1. Ronaldo Mulitalo

2. Cameron McInnes 51

3. Peter Mamouzelos 48

4. Michael Chee-Kam 45

5. Teig Wilton 43

6. Cameron Murray 39

7. Nicho Hynes 37

8. Briton Nikora 36

9. Tom Hazleton 34

10. Blayke Brailey 29

36th minute - Sharks 16-6

Everything is coming up Mulitalo.

Ronaldo has a second for the night and his SuperCoach score is headed to the moon.

This came on the back of a Braydon Trindall grubber with the winger flying past Taane Milne to score with ease.

32nd minute - Sharks 10-6

South Sydney can’t take a trick. They’ve used two interchanges already with Jacob Host returning from a HIA but Tyrone Munro leaving the field with a collarbone injury.

Tevita Tatola came from the field in the 14th minute with an ankle concern and Siliva Havili has come on for Tom Burgess.

Tatola and Munro have both been ruled out for the remainder of the game.

Now Jye Gray has gone off for a HIA. They currently have 14 fit players and have just conceded again with a brilliant pass from Ronaldo Mulitalo, getting the ball away just before being tackled, for Teig Wilton to score.

Top SC scores: Mulitalo 61, Chee-Kam 45, Mamouzelos 44

20th minute - Rabbitohs 6-4

The early enthusiasm from South Sydney wasn’t able to result in points, and the Sharks have made them pay.

Poor defence from a scrum play allowed Ronaldo Mulitalo to continue his scoring streak with relative ease.

He rockets up to 44 points, but in further bad news for Souths, Tyrone Munro was seen clutching at his shoulder. Not a good sign in his return from injury.

A blunder near the sideline from Will Kennedy in trying to prevent a 40/20 gives the Rabbitohs great territory and Michael Chee Kam scores off the back of a nice switch from Dean Hawkins.

10th minute - 0-all

Jacob Host comes off for a HIA with Michael Chee Kam his replacement while medical staff determine if he can return or not. He’s been deemed Category 2.

Jye Gray passed his first test in style, beating Will Kennedy in the air for a bomb dropping on his own line and adding an additional 20m for good measure.

7.20PM: Has there ever been a game with more pressure on a coach than tonight’s fixture?

Jason Demetriou’s coaching career is reportedly on the line as South Sydney takes on Cronulla at Accor Stadium.

The Rabbitohs have kept the same 17 as named on Tuesday with no Latrell Mitchell and Damien Cook.

Peter Mamouzelos (HOK $243,00) gets his first start of the season after playing limited minutes last week, while exciting prospect Jye Gray (5/8 $204,300) makes his NRL debut at fullback.

The Sharks welcome back Toby Rudolf (FRF $460,100) onto the interchange in place of Billy Burns.

Briton Nikora (2RF $710,400) is a pricey SuperCoach player who returns from suspension and his 2,151 owners will be hoping he can make an immediate impact.

Jacob Gagai and Daniel Atkinson are the respective 18th men.

FULL TIME – Eels 27-20

Most coaches would be pulling their hair out after that performance from the Cowboys.

After a lightning-fast start, North Queensland completely fell apart with a number of brain farts and defensive lapses that invited Parramatta back into the game.

To give the Eels the credit they deserve, they were clinical with their opportunities and scrambled in defence with determination.

Parramatta completely turned around their disappointing loss to Canberra and put in a performance any top eight side would be happy with.

TOP SUPERCOACH SCORES

1. J’maine Hopgood 67

2. Joey Lussick 66

3. Clint Gutherson 64

4. Murray Taulagi 63

5. Scott Drinkwater 62

6. Dylan Brown 62

7. Valentine Holmes 62

8. Joe Ofahengaue 59

9. Daejarn Asi 58

10. Tom Dearden 55

70th minute – Eels 26-20

North Queensland had no right to score that.

A comical fifth tackle play around halfway somehow paid off for Scott Drinkwater in his 100th NRL appearance, taking a pass from Murray Taulagi to bring the Cowboys within a try.

We could be in for our second golden point game of the day.

Bailey Simonsson has returned to the field after overcoming his injury.

62nd minute – Eels 26-14

Parramatta are back in control after Daejarn Asi slipped through some poor defence to score against his former club.

The Cowboys look exhausted after a blistering start and that goal line defence was simply woeful by a handful of players.

60th minute – Eels 20-14

Bailey Simonsson has gone down with what appears to be a knee injury and he has left the field.

Bryce Cartwright has moved to right centre while Will Penisini shifts to left wing.

Meanwhile Jeremiah Nanai has left the field in discomfort for the Cowboys, replaced by Jack Gosiewski.

54th minute – Eels 20-14

Uh-oh, Joey Lussick has his second try of the night after an unforgivable error.

The Cowboys’ short dropout is tapped back by Kyle Feldt to absolutely no one, allowing Lussick to score untouched.

But wait up a second, the bunker has spotted another unforgivable mistake – Lussick was inside the 10m when the dropout was taken, ruling him out of the play.

Whoops.

50th minute – Eels 20-14

Valentine Holmes put his body on the line to get the Cowboys back in the contest after charging onto a Tom Dearden pass.

The Kangaroos centre has been kept relatively quiet tonight but that four-pointer will be a great boost to his SuperCoach score – although another missed conversion doesn’t help.

Only one player has cracked 50 points so far: Joey Lussick on 52.

45th minute – Eels 20-10

Parramatta have struck first to take their biggest lead of the night.

More dodgy work at the back from milestone man Scott Drinkwater allowed Morgan Harper to win the race to the ball in the in-goal for a simple put down.

That was the perfect start for the home side who will take plenty of confidence out of that try.

HALF TIME – Eels 14-10

The Cowboys will rue missed opportunities – often missed by just inches – as they trail the Eels despite having the bulk of good chances.

Parramatta prop Junior Paulo made a huge impact when he came onto the field and his side would be satisfied with their slender lead.

This game could go either way after the break.

TOP SUPERCOACH SCORES

1. Joey Lussick 47

2. Joe Ofahengaue 47

3. Scott Drinkwater 45

4. Tom Chester 37

5. Will Penisini 35

6. J’maine Hopgood 34

7. Jeremiah Nanai 33

8. Reuben Cotter 32

9. Clint Gutherson 24

10. Reagan Campbell-Gillard 23

33rd minute – Eels 14-10

Bryce Cartwright and Dylan Brown were both put on report during the same play after tag-teaming foul play on Tom Dearden.

Brown’s high tackle looked fairly innocuous but Cartwright could be in hot water for working Dearden on the ground.

27th minute – Eels 14-10

Somehow Parramatta have taken another lead following a frantic final tackle play. Dylan Brown first offloaded to Will Penisini, who threw a spectacular offload to his hooker Joey Lussick.

The penalties are starting to stack up against the visitors, giving away five to none.

The officials had a blunder allowing a blatant forward pass in the tackle before the try, but that’s of no consequence now.

25th minute – Cowboys 10-8

Murray Taulagi looked to have scored a beautiful try in the right corner but it was not to be.

What a beautiful run from Tom Dearden, engaging the defence before floating the ball to Valentine Holmes to feed his winger.

But on review, Taulagi’s foot was dragged into touch just before he grounded the ball – giving the Eels another get out.

North Queensland have all the momentum with 15 to play in the half.

20th minute – Cowboys 10-8

Tom Chester cashed in on a great Scott Drinkwater run, the wily fullback jinking out of a tackle and finding his centre on the charge.

It was some worrying defence again for Parramatta, but thankfully for the hosts Val Holmes missed the kickable conversion.

17th minute – Eels 8-6

It’s been end-to-end action through the opening stages but the Eels have the lead.

Jason Taumalolo was placed on report for a crusher tackle on J’maine Hopgood and the Eels kicked ahead by two points via Clint Gutherson’s boot.

10th minute – 6-all

Parramatta didn’t take long to hit back after a Valentine Holmes error.

Joe Ofahengaue backed up his coaches’ decision to start him with a rampaging try to level the scores.

Scott Drinkwater is celebrating his 100th NRL appearance but there’s no excuses for his poor defensive effort on the line.

5th minute – Cowboys 6-0

Jeremiah Nanai soared above the pack to score under the posts after he was the sole reason the Cowboys’ first score was rubbed out.

Kyle Feldt looked to have put his side ahead inside the first five minutes but the play was called back due to Jeremiah Nanai obstructing the defence.

The Cowboys have started with a bang and they look like they’re in a mood to play. Can Parramatta prevent a repeat of last week’s dismal showing in the nation’s capital?

Interestingly, Tom Dearden popped up on the right edge outside Chad Townsend during that try-scoring set as North Queensland look to exploit the Eels’ new-look left edge defence.

LATE MAIL

Joe Ofahengaue steps into the starting side, shifting Junior Paulo to the interchange while

Cowboys enter the game 1-17.

FULL TIME – 22-all

What a game.

New Zealand scored eight points in the final minute to level the scores and send the game to golden point extra time.

A draw was probably a fair result but can’t we have another 10 minutes of this awesome match?

Two teams that look destined for finals put on a great spectacle in difficult conditions at Mt Smart Stadium.

INJURY WARD

Warriors tryscorer Jazz Tevaga left the field late in the first half with a hamstring injury. Manly’s Ben Trbojevic also left the contest early with a hamstring injury.

Lachlan Croker took a heavy bump from Marcelo Montoya in extra time, clutching at his shoulder before being taken off the field for a HIA.

TOP SUPERCOACH SCORES

1. Daly Cherry-Evans 99

2. Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad 92

3. Tohu Harris 90

4. Shaun Johnson 89

5. Dallin Watene-Zelezniak 86

6. Tom Trbojevic 81

7. Jake Trbojevic 76

8. Wade Egan 76

9. Mitch Barnett 76

10. Addin Fonua-Blake 76

85th minute – 22-all

The Warriors had a golden opportunity to finish the game but a Tohu Harris knock on let them off the hook.

The game is still locked at 22-all with five more minutes to play after a short break.

80th minute – 22-all

We are going to golden point!

Unbelievable scenes in Auckland as Shaun Johnson is hit late while attempting a two-point field goal to tie the game with the last kick. He is blown a penalty right in front and knocks over the match-levelling goal.

Dallin Watene-Zelezniak crossed for his second try of the evening with just under a minute to play setting up a grandstand finish.

65th minute – Manly 22-14

Ben Trbojevic has left the field with an apparent hamstring injury.

The versatile edge player has been sensational in Reuben Garrick’s vacant centre position.

Karl Lawton has slotted onto the right edge to replace him.

Tolutau Koula is also being treated for injury on the field.

55th minute – Manly 22-14

Shaun Johnson is once again in the form of his life. Will this bloke ever slow down?

The crafty halfback snuck through the defensive line after a Mitch Barnett offload and wove through the backfield to get the Warriors back within striking range.

However Johnson missed the very kickable conversion that could have cut the deficit to six.

45th minute – Manly 22-10

It took just three minutes for Manly to open its second half account and snatch back momentum through SuperCoach darling Ben Trbojevic.

A perfect pass from skipper Daly Cherry-Evans essentially put ‘Burbo’ over untouched.

Jazz Tevaga has pulled his hamstring and will not return to the game.

HALF TIME – Manly 16-10

The Sea Eagles have looked far better through the opening stages but find themselves just six points ahead.

Warriors tryscorer Jazz Tevaga left the field late in the first half with a serious looking injury that we’ll keep you updated on.

Manly forward Ethan Bullemor was pouring blood from his right eye and nose at about the 30-minute mark, but remained on the field with his sanguinary splattering of face paint.

TOP SUPERCOACH SCORES

1. Tommy Talau 62

2. Tom Trbojevic 58

3. Daly Cherry-Evans 52

4. Tohu Harris 51

5. Corey Waddell 43

6. Jazz Tevaga 43

7. Dallin Watene-Zelezniak 41

8. Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad 40

9. Addin Fonua-Blake 37

10. Jackson Ford 30

40th minute – Manly 16-10

With less than a minute to go Dallin Watene-Zelezniak pounced on an intercept and dashed 50 metres to score his 12th try in his last 14 games at Mt Smart.

Two quick tries have the Warriors well and truly back in the contest.

36th minute – Manly 16-6

There are the points New Zealand desperately needed.

A gigantic touch finder from Shaun Johnson laid the platform for the Warriors to score their first try of the afternoon through Jazz Tevaga.

That certainly got the crowd back involved and will give the hosts something to build on during the break.

Tommy Talau leads SuperCoach scoring with 63 points while Tom Trbojevic and Daly Cherry-Evans have both cracked a half-century.

28th minute – Manly 16-0

The Sea Eagles have a third and signs are beginning to get ominous for the Warriors.

This time Tommy Talau has dotted down in the left corner before Daly Cherry-Cherry Evans missed his first conversion of 2024.

New Zealand will be desperate to score before halftime.

24th minute – Manly 12-0

Daly Cherry-Evans doubled his side’s lead when he finished a long-range try for the visitors.

Manly found space on the left-hand edge around the halfway line and Tommy Talau broke the line and sent a nice grubber back infield for his captain to dive on.

New Zealand have barely spent any time attacking the line so far and we’re 15 minutes out from halftime.

20th minute – Manly 6-0

The second 10 minutes of this match has flown by and the Sea Eagles are still a converted try ahead.

The Warriors have lost their captain’s challenge and will have to trust in the footy gods to treat them well for the next hour.

Manly’s Daly Cherry-Evans and Corey Waddell lead SuperCoach scoring with 33 points apiece.

10th minute – Manly 6-0

Daly Cherry-Evans scored an unlikely try after a 5th tackle ricochet, slotting the resulting conversion to put his side ahead.

Both teams are testing each other’s defences but it was the Sea Eagle who took an early lead.

Roger Tuivasa-Sheck made an uncharacteristic blunder with one of his first touches in his 200th NRL appearance, opening the door for Manly to have the first real attacking raid of the match.

The Warriors have been the best defensive team in the NRL so far and put their bone-crunching ability on display to turn them away.

This game is shaping as a cracker so far, despite a handful of errors from both sides, and it was just a matter of time until we saw the first points.

2.15PM – LATE MAIL

Reserves: 18. Jakob Arthur

Late Mail: Aaron Woods joined the bench on Friday night, replacing Nathan Brown who sits out with a knee injury.

Both Jason Saab (hamstring) and Reuben Garrick (concussion) are due back next week.

The spotlight may firmly be on the Rabbitohs and under fire coach Jason Demetriou, but there is plenty on the line for SuperCoaches in what shapes as an action packed Super Saturday.

The Warriors are looking for their third-straight win against a Manly side who just toppled the reigning premiers. Manly star Reuben Garrick remains sidelined with concussion, while Tom Trbojevic (111 points) and Daly Cherry-Evans (128 points) are coming off monster scores. Charnze Nicholl-Klokstad impressed in his NRL return last week and is a massive POD at just 0.4% ownership. Dallin Watene-Zelezniak (hamstring) and Shaun Johnson (leg) are set to play.

The Cowboys are coming off a big win over the Titans with Scott Drinkwater (144 points) and Reece Robson (117 points) and Valentine Holmes (93 points) looking for another big performance. Zac Laybutt (9.4% owned) is out for the season after suffering an ACL injury in Round 5. Parramatta meanwhile have made some changes as they look to avoid a third-straight defeat, with Maika Sivo and Blaize Talagi (37% owned) axed. Bryce Cartwright makes his return from a rib injury

The Sharks are back after having a week off in Round 5, and look set to feast as they take on an understrength Rabbitohs side, with Nicho Hynes shaping as one of the most popular captaincy options for the round at 17.3%, while cheapie Kayal Iro gets another opportunity. Cronulla also welcome back Briton Nikora from suspension, while regular first graders Toby Rudolf (ankle) and Braden Hamlin-Uele (knee) are lurking on the extended bench.

For Souths, it seems nothing short of a win can save Demetriou’s coaching career and they have their work cut out for them. Latrell Mitchell is suspended and star hooker Damien Cook has been axed, with Jye Gray set to make his NRL debut at fullback, and Peter Mamouzelos earning a recall for his ninth match.
