The South Sydney Rabbitohs have won when it counts the most, claiming a stunning victory in the ongoing Book of Feuds with a 30-14 win over the Sydney Roosters.

The Roosters won the stadium opening last week but it was merely an appetiser for one of the most incredible finals games you'll ever see.

The bitter rivalry between the teams was obvious from the opening minutes when Victor Radley was sin binned for a punch that was laughed off as little more than a push by the commentators.

But it was just the beginning as there were record seven sin bins - there had never been more than five in a match previously - which included five tries scored by the team with the man disadvantage and five HIAs with three failures in just the craziest match.

Fox Sports' Matt Russell said it was "the most remarkable game I've been sideline at".

The result sets up a clash next week for the Rabbitohs against the Cronulla Sharks in Sydney on Saturday.

Braith Anasta asked after the game if all the sin bins were deserving or "did Ashley Klein and the Bunker lose the plot?"

Michael Ennis said he believed the first sin bin was a "love tap".

He added the first high tackle from Tom Burgess which wound up concussing James Tedesco deserved to be sin binned when it wasn't.

"Taane Milne had to be sin binned, I didn't think there was much in the Tatola one, (Jared Waerea-Hargreaves) absolutely, no doubt that was a head slam," Ennis said.

"I felt Victor Radley did deserve to be when Klein sent both in that melee. I don't think there's much in that (the Tatola incident)."

Anasta responded: "There was nothing in that.

"This is the problem, they set the precedent so early with that love tap from Radley that every other player that made contact with the head, like Magic Round, it was 'see ya later' straight away."

Cooper Cronk said he believed there were probably two bins wrong in the game but that it was "a great game".

Seven's Luke McGarry tweeted: "Klein cannot ref another game this finals. The bloke is a deadset disgrace."

WWOS' Chris De Silva added: "Ashley Klein would've definitely sent Hasbulla to the bin as well if he'd lined up for Souths today."

The Punch Podcast's Jaben Ryan posted: "We need a minute silence for the pea in Kliens whistle."

The Daily Telegraph's Jamie Pandaram commented: "Crazy game, more bins than Bunnings. But Souths were the better team and deserve to advance."

While the sin bins dominated the proceedings and the fallout, it was an old school barnstormer between teams that do not like each other.

In front of a packed and vocal  Allianz Stadium, the match had pretty much everything, monster hits, incredible tries - many despite being a man down - and massive moments which changed the game.

But it was the sin bin count in the spiteful clash which is bound to dominate the week.
