Things just keep getting worse for the Sea Eagles, with two key players ruled out for the rest of 2022.

The Sea Eagles have suffered a double blow as their season continues to spiral out of control following the pride jersey fiasco.

The club has lost three games on the trot since seven players decided to boycott the round 20 game against the Roosters, with their 20-point drubbing at the hands of the lowly Titans effectively knocking them out of the finals race.

Things won’t get any easier on the field with head physiotherapist Chris Bailey confirming two key players won’t be back until 2023.

Speedy winger Jason Saab will be out for at least six months after scans confirmed he’d suffered a serious knee injury during Sunday’s loss.

“When taking off to take a high ball, Jason planted his left foot, and his knee gave way,” Bailey said.

“MRIs last night confirmed he’d ruptured his ACL.

“Jason will now go to our knee specialist to consider the options to repair that knee.”

The Sea Eagles will also be without inspirational lock forward Jake Trbojevic for the next three games after he broke a hand during the loss on the Gold Coast.

It’s the last thing the club needs ahead of Saturday’s game at home against the high-flying Sharks.

“Jake Trbojevic also injured his hand against the Titans,” Bailey said.

“He was able to complete the game, but an X-ray yesterday confirmed a fracture. At this stage, we expect Jake to be out for the rest of the season.”

Trbojevic won’t be in any doubt for the World Cup if he’s picked in Mal Meninga’s squad.
