When the NRL gods are against you, they’re really against you.
The Brisbane Broncos are stuck in a horrific rut and would have fancied their chances against the Gold Coast Titans at Suncorp Stadium.

But the Titans are once again proving to Brisbane’s bogey team at Suncorp Stadium, claiming a third straight win between the teams at the stadium.
A perfect first half saw the Titans score three tries to open up its biggest lead of the season with a 22-0 halftime result.

And the calls were also going their way with the second try going to Anthony Don scoring in the corner after Keegan Hipgrave batted a ball on to Don to cross the line.
But it appeared to be a knock on to most people, including the try scorer, except for the Bunker, the touch judge and the referee.
“I’ve seen so many of them called a knock on, so many,” Braith Anasta said. “You’ve got to play to the whistle and they gave up on the play there the Broncos.
“There is an argument that it did go backwards but I think that’s a bad call I’ve got to be honest, I could be wrong but I’ve seen thousands of them given a knock on over the years.”
Social media was on Anasta’s side.
What an absolute joke. Clearly a knock-on... his face after scoring the 'try' said it all. @NRL you wonder why fans are leaving in droves... outrageous. #NRLBroncosTitans

But while it was a controversial call, it’s no excuse for the Broncos, who have crashed to a new low, down 22-0 at the break after Don ran in a long distance intercept late in half.
Furious coach Anthony Seibold reportedly stormed out of the coaches box to meet his team and few could blame him.

Incredible effort and enthusiasm from @GCTitans but this is ROCK BOTTOM for the @brisbanebroncos. Embarrassing. #NRLBroncosTitans

I fully support the Broncosâ youth policy. This season, probably the next, and certainly tonight against the Gold Coast, are whacks we need to take to keep this team of kids together. Hope David Fifita and Tesi Niu are similarly committed! #NRLBroncosTitans #StickWithSeibold

Broncos legend and Fox analyst Justin Hodges looked shellshocked.
“This is the first time I’ve actually seen a Broncos side booed off at halftime,” he said. “The fans are very angry as you could tell.
“I know there’s only 10,000 here but I don’t think I’ve ever heard a Brisbane Broncos team get booed off so you can really feel the frustration from the fans and also the players but you just understand what this football side means to this town and the boys just haven’t delivered in the first 40 minutes.”
The Broncos did get across the line early in the second with Ben Te’o crashing over under the posts early in the second.
Brisbane scored a second to make it feel closer than it was but the Titans held on with two penalty goals and a late try to Phillip Sami sealing the famous victory.
