Having steered Burleigh to the Intrust Super Cup premiership for the second time in September, Lenihan was brought to the Titans to join Jim Dymock as the right-hand men to head coach Justin Holbrook for the 2020 NRL season.

And while the 46-year-old has impressed with his rugby league knowledge, Holbrook said the former Gold Coast Seagulls centre had more than a few strings to his bow.

HOLBROOK DISCUSSES SHANNON BOYD’S FUTURE

“Jim’s loud and enthusiastic voice is awesome to have around. He sings a lot, Jimmy, and they reckon he’s a great dancer but I haven’t seen that yet,” Holbrook, fresh off winning the Super League crown with St Helens, said.

“He’s a good singer. His genres cover everything, he’s got a wide range, which I like. I like variety and he’s got lots of it.”

But most importantly, Holbrook said, Lenihan brings a winning mentality.

“I couldn’t get a bad word said about him, which is a good thing. I spoke to a number of people about Jimmy and everyone said the same things – he’s a great bloke, he gets his teams working really hard and is big on effort,” he said.

“It’s good on two fronts that he’s a local guy but he’s earned it. He understands the area and he knows it.

“He wants the team to do well. (He and Dymock) complement each other well.”

Lenihan’s singing talents got the Ball and All team thinking about what an album from one of the Bears’ favourite sons might feature:
