Retired NRL champion Brett Stewart is set to face court after being charged with one count of possessing a prohibited drug.
The former Sea Eagles superstar was charged after being searched by police on the street in Manly last month.
It is understood that the former fullback was spotted amid, or just after an alleged transaction on Eustace St, towards Manly Cove Beach at 7pm on March 10.

During a search of Stewart’s person, officers allegedly located cocaine.
He is due to appear before Manly Local Court on Wednesday April 19.
Police have not confirmed the amount of alleged cocaine involved, but the nature of the charge indicates that Stewart was likely carrying less than 3g of cocaine, with 3g the threshold in New South Wales for differentiating a charge of trafficking and possession.
Manly CEO Tony Mestrov said he had no comment to make: “It’s a police matter and I’ve got no further comment to make.”
Stewart won premierships with Manly in 2008 and 2011, as well as having played in the 2007 and 2013 grand finals.
He played 233 games for the Sea Eagles in a 13-year career, and was a fan favourite, earning the moniker “The Prince of Brookvale”.
He scored 163 tries, topping the league in 2008 and earning eight Origin selections for New South Wales.
Since retirement, he has served as an occasional fullback consultant with Manly and has also opened a Japanese restaurant.
NSW Police released a holding statement: “Just before 7pm (Friday 10 March 2023), officers from Northern Beaches Police Area Command were conducting patrols of the Manly area, when they spoke to a 38-year-old man.
“During a search of the man, they allegedly located cocaine.
“He was charged with possess prohibited drug and is due to appear before Manly Local Court on Wednesday 19 April 2023.”
