HULL have named former NRL player Steve Michaels for their English Super League game against Leeds, four days after he was implicated in the Gold Coast Titans’ cocaine scandal.
The Queensland Crime and Corruption Commission announced last Friday they had obtained an arrest warrant for the 28-year-old former Titans player as part of their investigation into drugs trafficking.
Hull owner Adam Pearson said the club were dealing with matter in house and have so far made no public comment.
Michaels, who joined Hull in the off-season and made his Super League debut in their round-two game with Warrington, was not due to play against Salford last Saturday but is back in the frame to face the Rhinos.
Five Titans players have been stood down indefinitely over the club’s cocaine crisis. But the NRL and Titans are being urged by lawyers to make Beau Falloon, Greg Bird, Dave Taylor, Jamie Dowling and Kalifa Faifai Loa available for selection, possibly before this weekend’s round one game against the Tigers.
