TITANS chief executive Steve Mitchell is adamant the club’s off-field success will deliver on-field rewards ahead of the announcement of a new partnership with Village Roadshow Theme Parks.
Having extended their long-running relationship with TFH in October, the Titans will today unveil Village Roadshow, Australia’s largest theme park operator, as their back-of-jersey sponsor for at least the 2020 and 2021 seasons.
The deal with the parent company of Movie World, Sea World, Wet’n’Wild, Topgolf, Paradise Country and the Australian Outback Spectacular follows a “brand health check” that revealed the Titans are ranked eighth in the NRL across four pillars - governance, off-field behaviour, community work and on-field performance.
‘THERE ALWAYS SEEMS TO BE MOVEMENT GOING ON’ - HOLBROOK
With Mitchell overseeing a club that now boasts a stable front office and new coaching team of Justin Holbook and assistants Jim Dymock and Jim Lenihan, hopes are high 2020 can bring a change in results.
Having collected this year’s wooden spoon after winning just four games, Mitchell said the sponsorship agreement with Village Roadshow was another step in the right direction.
“The business is really starting to get some great substance about it. Vital to the sustainability (of the club) is the health of the business,” Mitchell, who works closely with owners Darryl and Joanne Kelly and Rebecca and Brett Frizelle, said.
“With what the Kellys and Frizelles want (the club) to be, it’s vitally important that these other parts of the business are well structured and have really good outcomes. The Village Roadshow partnership is a demonstration of what is starting to gain momentum.
‘WHY PRESTO DOESN’T MAKE MY TITANS TEAM OF THE DECADE’
“(That deal) is super exciting for us. What that does ultimately is help us fund and support Justin Holbrook and Jimmy Lenihan and Jim Dymock and our elite football department.
“Commercially we’re in a good space and our footy is starting to pick up a bit of momentum. There’s some very positive signs.”
And they may not stop there, with Mitchell revealing the club was in discussions with other potential sponsors.
“The organisation is really starting to shape up strongly and in return we’re having good conversations with significant national brands that are interested in partnering with us,” he said.
“Village Roadshow Theme Parks are without doubt best-in-class globally when it comes to entertainment for the whole family, sharing with the Titans a passion for innovation to deliver exceptional experiences for stakeholders.
ROBERTS’ DUAL FOCUS FOR LOOMING ALL STARS CLASH
“These shared ideals will help deliver a new-level of game-day experiences for Titans Members and fans, with activations and game-day takeovers driven by Village Roadshow Theme Parks’ superheroes and other characters at Titans home games at Cbus Super Stadium.
“In turn, the Titans will use the national and international reach of the NRL premiership, through its millions of television viewers, to tell the world that the Gold Coast is the must-see destination for world-class sport and world-class entertainment.”
Village Roadshow Theme Parks chief operating officer Bikash Randhawa said the partnership with the Titans would deliver the message that the Gold Coast was the city where everyone from professional athletes to families with young children come to play.
“The Gold Coast is known as being Australia’s playground, and certainly Village Roadshow Theme Parks are synonymous with that,” Mr Randhawa said.
TITANS PREPARED TO BE PATIENT WITH TOBY
“But this partnership also reinforces the Gold Coast is home to businesses making significant impacts in their respective fields nationally and internationally.
“Village Roadshow Theme Parks are proud to call the Gold Coast home, and equally proud to call the Gold Coast Titans our partners in delivering world-class experiences that will be a source of pride for our city, and an attraction for visitors from around the world.”
