Mulitalo was picked for Queensland only to be rubbed out of his debut on the morning of the game because he was born in New Zealand and not eligible to represent the Maroons.
“Can I ask you Ronny (Ronaldo), remember that day you were all set to play Origin and you went to training and they said, you can’t, what happened there?” Fletcher said on Fletch and Hindy on Thursday Night with Matty Johns from Las Vegas.
Mulitalo’s teammate Addin Fonua-Blake couldn’t help but interject.
“You were born in New Zealand,” Fonua-Blake said.
“That’s probably an issue,” Fletcher laughed.

Mulitalo then revealed the incredible story that he was given the option to play the game, but if he was deemed ineligible Queensland would have forfeited the match.
“I turned my phone off and then I woke up in the morning on the day of Origin and turned my phone on and I see all the calls from the manager saying, I need to see you in the conference room.
“Then I got in there and they said, we need your passport, your visa, everything.
“And I was like, f**k how would I have anything from when I was 12.
“They said, you can play still, but if we deem it that you are not eligible then the game gets forfeited, so that’s up to you?
“So they go, there you go young kid you choose, you can f**k up a whole state’s legacy or you can play.”
Fletcher asked if Mulitalo would love to just have one chance to play in that arena.
“Would you like to have one Origin game?” Fletcher asked.
“I like that arena the confrontation, I reckon that would be pretty cool,” Mulitalo said.
