The Manly Sea Eagles have added some firepower ahead of the 2022 season, snapping up former Broncos youngster Ethan Bullemor on a two-year deal.

Bullemor’s arrival comes after the Sea Eagles let go five players from the club, including young centre Moses Suli and veteran back-rower Curtis Sironen.

The 21-year-old was released from his contract with the Red Hill outfit on September 8, and made 25 appearances for the Broncos since debuting in 2020.

Upon his release from Brisbane, Broncos football and performance director Ben Ikin revealed Bullemor was bound for “a good opportunity elsewhere”, and the Sea Eagles were all too happy to secure the future of the forward.

Manly coach Des Hasler was delighted to have the youngster in his ranks at the club.

“Ethan is a very highly promising player who will add another dimension to our strong forward pack,” Hasler said.

“He is only young and still has plenty to learn, but Ethan certainly has the talent and ability to succeed.”

As Bullemor enters through the gates at Brookvale, five stars are headed the opposite way, including 23-year-old centre Moses Suli — the club releasing him from the final year of his contract to join the St George Illawarra Dragons.

Tongan international Suli penned a three-year deal with the red and whites as he looks to firm up his status as one of the game’s most promising centres.

Dragons general manager of football Ben Haran believes the addition of Suli will be a huge bonus for a young squad with talent to spare.

“To secure Moses for the next three years after trying to sign him a couple of seasons back is certainly pleasing,” Haran said.

“Our young outside back talent pool will only benefit from the arrival of Moses.

“Moses is a strong, powerful and skilful centre.

“Equally important, he is keen to make an immediate mark at the Dragons.”

Curtis Sironen also departs Manly, having joined the club in 2017.

The 28-year-old was hampered by injuries in his first two years at the Sea Eagles, but enjoyed a fruitful spell in 2019 and played in 22 games.

Zac Saddler, Jack Gosiewski and Manly’s 2020 rookie of the year, Tevita Funa, are all seeking pastures new, having also been released by the club ahead of the 2022 season.
