Afterparties popped up all over Las Vegas as the eight teams, hundreds of officials and tens of thousands of fans closed out the second year of the NRL’s American takeover.
Given there were still players at Allegiant Stadium until after 11pm local time, you could forgive them for their festivities stretching out until the sun came up.
The Penrith Panthers headed to Caesars Palace, where DJ Fisher performed at the Omnia Nightclub.
The Jillaroos, coming off their 90-4 thrashing of England’s Lionesses, had more reason to celebrate as they had backstage passes to American DJ Steve Aoki at the Hakkasan Nightclub at MGM Grand.
Cronulla and New Zealand players were spotted inside Resorts World’s Zouk Nightclub, where Grammy award-winning rapper T-Pain entertained the crowd, along with DJ Montay and musical artist Party PIP.
Inside the packed venue, NRL advertising was projected onto the big screen, walls and ceiling of the venue, another example of rugby league capitalising on its Las Vegas venture.
The NRL hosted a private area where former players and officials rubbed shoulders with singers, reality stars and celebrities.
Scheana Shay and her Australian husband Brock Davies — stars of hit US reality TV show Vanderpump Rules — were popular.
Singer Conrad Sewell, who performed at the Fremont Street experience and during Sunday’s games at Allegiant Stadium, joined the group which included former NRL stars Johnathan Thurston, Paul Gallen, Dene Halatau and Aaron Woods.
Comedian Will “Spank” Horton, known as one of the Plastic Cup Boyz, had performed at Resorts World the night before with Kevin Hart, and was spotted at T-Pain’s concert not far from where Sharks and Warriors players.
