Rugby League Gold Coast have secured the use of CBUS Super Stadium for Grand Final day for the first time in competition history.
Four divisions will contest their season deciders on the Gold Coast Titans home ground in a back-to-back format culminating in a twilight A Grade Grand Final.
The Reserve Graders, Under-20s and Under-18s will also take the field as curtain-raisers in a six-hour festival of rugby league on the weekend of October 17-18.
CBUS Super Stadium general manager Kristian Blundell said he hoped 2020’s Grand Final day was the first of many at the stadium.
“It’s something the venue really wanted to be part of,” he said.
“COVID provided an opportunity but this is something Stadiums Queensland and our venue are really pushing to promote local communities and local sport.
“Making CBUS the home of the local Grand Final is something I want forevermore.
“Let’s lock it in and have it here (permanently).”

Blundell declined to specify how great a discount RLGC had received to book the stadium but said all parties had been satisfied by the agreement.
“COVID has been tough on everyone and we really wanted to reach out and support RLGC as much as we could,” he said.
“There is a cost associated with it but at the end of the day we really wanted to support the local rugby league Grand Final.
“We’ve made it work so that everyone is happy.”
Rugby League Gold Coast chair Peter Daley described the move from Pizzey Park to CBUS Super Stadium as a coup for the sport.
“It is a massive coup,” Daley said.
“The conversation came up early and we pursued it and here we are.
“If we didn’t come here it would have put a lot of pressure on Burleigh, where we’ve been for the last five or six years.
“We decided to come here and test this out and the stadium has been very accommodating of our needs and our costs.
“We wouldn’t be here if we couldn’t afford it.”
Daley thanked the Titans for their financial support in helping make the move a reality.
Burleigh Bears president Damien Driscoll said the move had his support.
“In a year like this where crowds are limited at Pizzey Park taking the showpiece to CBUS is good for everyone,” Driscoll said.
“We’re definitely supportive and if we get on the big stage it will be a thrill to play there.”
A potential sneak preview of the Final will play out at Pizzey Park on Sunday when second-placed Burleigh host ladder leaders Runaway Bay.
