Gold Coast’s Coffs Harbour clash with Cronulla looms as an Origin audition for up to six Titans.

For Gold Coast contingent AJ Brimson, Moeaki Fotuaika, David Fifita, Beau Fermor, Phillip Sami, and Alofiana Khan-Pereira, it is the final chance saloon that they hope will thrust them into the Queensland Maroons team for the Origin decider at Suncorp Stadium on July 17.

Brimson is set for a timely return from the groin injury that has sidelined him since May 12’s round 10 clash against North Queensland and Titans forward Palasia revealed he had been training strongly.

“It’s like he never left, he was flying (this week), he was burning everyone (at training),” Palasia said.

“Hopefully he just does that in the game scores a few points for us.”

Palasia threw his support behind not only Brimson, but Fotuaika, Fifita, and Fermor to all put their hands up for Origin three selection.

“I think they all could be pushing for a spot in that Queensland team,” he said.

He noted that Fifita has picked up his one-percenters and become a “complete player” amid his red-hot run of form.

Gold Coast’s Chris Randall endorsed wingers Phillip Sami Alofiana Khan-Pereira to vy to replace the injured Xavier Coates on Queensland’s edge.

“I couldn’t see why not, (Sami’s) a first-class winger same with (Khan-Pereira), if they’re looking for speed out there they’re both very good options,” Randall said.

Randall added that nullifying the Sharks’ fast start will be key to stringing together another win.

“They’re very good side, they run hard and challenge the ruck so we’ll have to be on and from the get-go,” he said.

“They start fast and hard, but we’ll just be looking to worry about our own game and look to look to do what we did against the Warriors and go set-for-set with them and with high completions.”
