Michael Schumacher’s family are celebrating some happy news after the Formula One legend’s daughter Gina announced the first of her first child.
Gina revealed she was expecting in December and she announced over the weekend she had given birth to the baby, a girl named Millie, on March 29.

“Welcome to the world Millie,” she wrote on Instagram.
“Born on March 29th, our hearts are fuller than ever.
“We are beyond blessed to have you in our lives. #welcomeMillie.”
Gina was inundated with well wishes and messages of congratulations from the public and the F1 world.
Max Verstappen’s mother Sophie Kumpen commented: “Congrats” with a love heart emoji.
The Mercedes F1 account offered their congratulations in German: “Herzlichen Glückwunsch.”
Gina’s brother Mick Schumacher posted: “Proud of you” with a love heart.
Gina married her husband Iain Betkhe in September last year and announced the news of their pregnancy late last year.
The 28-year-old is a professional horse rider and announced the pregnancy with a photo of balloons next to a saddle and cowboy boots.
There had been speculation her seven-time F1 world champion dad Michael had been present at the wedding, but those rumours were shut down.
F1 legend Schumacher, 56, has not been seen in public since he suffered a serious head injury after a skiing accident in December 2013 in the French Alps.
The private wedding saw staff told to hand over their mobile phones before entering the villa so no photos would be taken inside.
Guests were also instructed to leave their mobile phones at the door and no media outlets were allowed to attend.
Horse enthusiasts Gina and Iain went official with their relationship nearly seven years ago.
The delightful news of Schumacher’s first grandchild comes two months after a man behind a plot to blackmail the F1 legend for $24 million was sentenced to three years in prison.
Yilmaz Tozturkan, 53, and two other men were arrested after hard drives containing private pictures, medical records, and videos of the Formula 1 legend were stolen.
Tozturkan and his 30-year-old son Daniel Lins were accused of demanding $24 million from the Schumacher family.
The pair from Wuppertal in western Germany threatened to release 1500 confidential files about the motorsport legend, on the dark web, if they did not get the money, The Sun reports.
These files allegedly included information on the former Ferrari driver after his skiing accident in 2013 — when the driver was last seen in public.
The pieces of private information are seen as being particularly vital for the family as wife Corinna continues to go to extreme lengths to keep secrets about the seven-time world champion’s lifestyle and health after going 12 years without a public appearance.
