GOLD Coast have entrusted young guns Tara Wheeler and Carly Fuller with the Katherine Raymont Shield captaincy as they look to extend their unbeaten one-day run against Valleys tomorrow.
With regular skipper Belinda McDougall unavailable, the Dolphins’ leadership duties have fallen to all-rounders Wheeler and Fuller, 21 and 20 respectively.
DOLPHINS ISSUE & FIGHT LEFT IN CAT - FIVE THINGS
Wheeler (95 not out) starred in the Dolphins’ 100-run win over University of Queensland in their opening one-dayer on October 20, before Fuller (5-22, 15 not out) guided them to a second-straight victory in last weekend’s eight-wicket rout of Wynnum-Manly/Redlands.
Hayley Campbell has been recalled to the side in place of McDougall to face a Valleys outfit that fell to Sandgate-Redcliffe last Sunday in its sole 50-over outing.
HUGO FEELING AT HOME WITH FINS
The Dolphins will again be without WBBL stars Georgia Redmayne, Delissa Kimmince and Sammy-Jo Johnson.
Play begins at 10am tomorrow at Robina’s Bill Pippen Oval.
