MIAMI State High School’s push towards a rugby sevens excellence program is off to a strong start after unearthing fresh talent this week.
The school’s girls rugby sevens tournament was held featuring teams from Brisbane State High, North Lakes State College, Mabel Park, Kingston, Merrimac, Elanora and Lindisfarne Anglican College.
After 32 matches across the under-14 and under-16 divisions, Mabel Park completed the double, defeating Brisbane in both finals.
Miami won both the third versus fourth playoffs to take bronze in a good sign ahead of next year’s launch of their excellence program. Applications for the program close today.
