With the club parting ways with coach Jason Buchanan at the end of the season, president Mark Thelwall said the focus was now on finding his replacement.

“We’re not in a big rush because we want to make sure we get it right. (But) if everything goes right, we can announce something by the middle of next week,” Thelwall said.

“We will see what happens in the next couple of weeks. We will be making sure we get the right balance. Our whole coaching structure will be changed.

“Jason is very busy with (his business) Soccer Genius and we wish him very well with that. I’m really confident with where we’re at.”

COAST CLUB RE-SIGNS US STRIKER

As revealed by the Bulletin this week, Buchanan is believed to be on the radar of other Coast clubs.

Thelwall said the club was delighted to be given another chance in the top flight next season.

“We’re thrilled with the way it’s worked out, to be given a second opportunity, which I think we really needed. We have never been in the Premier League before and it’s a huge learning curve.

“We just had a few different things that happened during the season that didn’t go our way. We need to make sure the Premier League (place) is rock solid to have a pathway for our juniors to play.

“We’re more prepared, even now.”
