NUDGEE is still the school to beat although the TSS First VIII is closing fast.

After finishing fifth at last weekend’s regatta, the local crew finished third but could have easily finished higher after a photo finish saw them lose to Churchies by 0.84 of a second.

Nudgee continued their dominance from the first regatta, winning both division one races by an average of nine seconds.

TSS did not compete in the second open eight race of the day.

The school’s year nine rowers have backed up their stellar performance from the first regatta, taking out 14 of the 22 races throughout the day.

The year 11s Third VIII was one of the stronger boats of the day, winning both of their races by more than six seconds each time they lined up against the opposition.

The year 10s dropped off slightly from last week, winning two races among four more podium finishes in a mixed day.

TSS ROWERS RAPID RISE

All schools have the weekend off this week before returning to Wyaralong Rowing Centre on February 23 for the third GPS regatta of the season.
